The draw ceremony was held at Iran Handball Federation’s headquarters in Tehran, the capital of Iran.
A total of 13 teams from across Asia will be participating in the competition, scheduled to be held in Tehran from Aug. 25 August to Sept. 3.
The teams are divided into three groups of three and one group of four teams.
The draw is as follows:
Group A: Iran, India, Iraq
Group B: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE
Group C: Korea Republic, Bahrain, Chinese Taipei
Group D: Japan, Kuwait, China, Jordan
This edition of the championship marks the second time that Tehran will be hosting the event, following their successful hosting in 2006.
The defending champions and record titleholders are the Republic of Korea, who clinched victory in 2005, 2014, and 2022.
The competition will also serve as a qualification event for the 11th IHF Men’s Youth (U19) Handball World Championship in Slovenia, scheduled for July/August 2025.
The top five teams from this competition will earn qualification spots for the World Championship.
