An aide to Golmohammadi said late on Monday that the coach and the Persepolis FC directors had failed to reach a new agreement about his job in the club after a long meeting earlier in the day.
The aide said the two sides concluded that Golmohammadi’s contract should be terminated by mutual consent.
The resignation comes after a successful four-year stint as the manager at Persepolis.
He resigned after a frustrating 1-1 away draw to Mes Rafsanjan last week in Iran’s Pro League for which Golmohammadi blamed the club’s financial and infrastructural problems.
The Iranian coach was appointed to lead Persepolis in January 2020 and won three league titles with the Reds over the past four years.
