Iran, Japan parliamentary groups cooperate fruitfully: Envoy

Iran, Japan parliamentary groups cooperate fruitfully: Envoy

Kazutoshi Aikawa said in a meeting with the head of the Iranian side of the Iran-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group who is also a lawmaker representing Tabriz city at parliament Rouhollah Motefaker-Azad on Wednesday night that Japan welcomes and supports parliamentary exchanges intending to deepen bilateral relations.

The ambassador also pointed to his country’s support for Palestine in terms of providing humanitarian aid to the people of the Gaza Strip, adding that Japanese officials are of the opinion that dialogue is an appropriate solution in order to solve problems and disputes at this juncture.

Motefaker-Azad, for his part, criticized the silence of the international community when it comes to crimes committed by the child-killing Israeli regime, saying that we are witnessing a genocide happening in the Gaza Strip.

He also referred to the proper level of collaboration between the two countries, arguing that third-party intervention, especially the United States, has not succeeded in destroying the relationship between Iran and Japan.

According to the MP, the Iran-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group plays an effective role in strengthening mutual ties, which can be further expanded.

The legislator also appreciated the efforts made by the Japanese ambassador in this respect, as well as his trips to Tabriz in East Azarbaijan Province, in a bid to expand his country’s investment in Iran, particularly in Lake Urmia, and asked the envoy to inform the Japanese government of the Iranian side’s willingness to invest in various fields in Japan.
