Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who is visiting Ankara, met and talked with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday.
In the meeting, Amir-Abdollahian congratulated Turkey on its National Day and conveyed the greetings of President of Iran Ebrahim Raeisi to the President of Turkey.
Referring to the recent telephone conversation between the two Presidents, he thanked President Erdogan for his recent strong support and the passionate support of the Turkish people for the oppressed people of Gaza.
Referring to the war crimes of the Zionist regime against the defenseless people of Gaza, the foreign minister said, “The American government is directly involved in supporting and managing the brutal attacks of the Zionist regime against the oppressed Palestinian people and the regime’s war crimes in Gaza.”
He pointed out that the commander of US CENTCOM and other US military commanders are present in the War Operations Room in Tel Aviv, while Washington advises others to exercise restraint.
He added the US is a party to the war against Gaza and is not in a position to advise others to exercise restraint.
The Iranian minister emphasized, “The Resistance movements in the region decide independently and if the war against the defenseless people of Gaza is not stopped immediately, there is a risk of the spread of it to other parts of the region at any moment, and the American government and the Zionist regime have to shoulder the responsibility for its consequences.”
He emphasized that Palestinian Resistance movements have told him that they do not have a problem in terms of military facilities and the ability to continue a long battle and continue a powerful confrontation with the Zionist regime.
“Islamic countries should take immediate and effective action to end the war crimes of the Zionist regime, lift the blockade of Gaza, and send humanitarian aid, and in this regard, the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes the necessity of holding an urgent meeting of heads of Islamic and Arab countries,” the top Iranian diplomat further underscored.
The Turkish President Erdogan, for his part, conveyed his greetings to President Raeisi.
He explained Turkey’s viewpoints regarding the ongoing Palestinian crisis and said, “Turkey’s priority is to stop the attacks on Gaza. , cease-fire and lift the blockade of Gaza and send humanitarian aid, and it is necessary to work to create mechanisms that ensure the security of the Palestinian people.”
In the meeting, some issues related to the bilateral cooperation of the two countries in various fields, especially economic and commercial, were also discussed and opinions were exchanged.
