The torch relay for the 19th Asian Games continued in Jiaxing City of east China’s Zhejiang Province on Sunday, the third stop of the journey.
The relay started with a ceremony at Zicheng Heritage Park in Jiaxing. A total of 170 torchbearers from all walks of life completed the 8.8-kilometer-long relay that connected landmarks and scenic spots of red tourism in the city.
The first torchbearer was Wang Yilyu, winner of the badminton mixed doubles gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, also a local of Jiaxing.
The Red Boat on Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing City is iconic in the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC). It witnessed the conclusion of the first CPC National Congress in 1921.
Yuan Jing, a storyteller of the Red Boat at the Nanhu Lake Revolutionary Memorial Hall, is also proud of participating in the torch relay for the Asian Games.
