Armenia does not recognize Karabakh government in exile

Former Karabakh Republic President Samvel Shahramanyan signed a decree on September 28, 2023, officially dissolving the unrecognized state effective January 1, 2024. However, he said today in an interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro that the government of the Karabakh Republic in exile exists and is in Yerevan, TASS reported.

“I cannot but note that some circles, forcibly displaced from Karabakh, voluntarily or involuntarily take actions and steps that threaten Armenia’s national security, declare some governments in exile. I would like to state very clearly that there is a government in the Republic of Armenia and this government is sitting in this room. The message is very clear: in case of necessity, appropriate steps should be taken so that foreign forces do not use certain circles to create threats to Armenia’s national security. I would like to make it clear that there can be no government in the Republic of Armenia other than the government of the Republic of Armenia. If someone in Armenia identifies with a government, it is a matter of national security. This is not a simple statement, it is a clear message, and this message must be expressed in real life,” he said.

A.R. Rahman says for him Imtiaz Ali is in same league as Mani Ratnam

Mumbai: Oscar and Grammy-winning music composer A.R. Rahman, who is all set to bring his musical might with the upcoming streaming film ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, said for him filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is in the same league as National Award-winning filmmaker Mani Ratnam.

Rahman attended the trailer launch of the film at the Mehboob Studios in Mumbai’s Bandra area on Thursday.

He was accompanied by director Imtiaz Ali, Diljit Dosanjh and actress Parineeti Chopra.

Rahman told the media, “Imtiaz is not a director for me, he is a co-storyteller just like Mani Ratnam is for me. As an artiste, it’s rare to find that deep connection with a fellow artiste.”

He further mentioned, “With Imtiaz the journey is more of an exploration, exploring the characters and the story together. Sometimes I give him something that doesn’t fit but he still keeps it in his kitty.”

The composer added that he had given the song ‘Phir Se Udd Chala’ from the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Rockstar’ to someone else, they would have said that it’s too complicated but Imtiaz quietly went away, sat with Irshad and worked on the lyrics.

Rahman shared, “He told me, ‘Ab main vapas poori taiyaari ke saath aaunga apke paas.”

‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ drops on Netflix on April 12.

"Laaton Ke Bhoot…": Yuvraj Scolds SRH Star Who Dismantled Pandya's MI

Sunrisers Hyderabad posted the highest ever IPL total of 277 for 3 against Mumbai Indians before registering a 31-run victory in a power-hitting contest at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium that left bowlers on both sides befuddled. Left-handed SRH batter Abhishek Sharma was also among the batters who shone in the match day. Abhishek scored 63 runs off 23 balls with the help of 3 fours and 7 sixes. He got to his half-century in 16 balls which is now the fastest by any SRH batter in IPL history.

Despite his terrific knock, former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who also happens to be Abhishek’s idol and mentor, scolded the player for the way he was dismsised.

It was a quick short ball from Piyush Chawal that saw Abhishek pulling it in the air before Naman Dhir completed the catch at deep mid-wicket.

“Waah sir Abhishek waah, great innings but what a splendid shot to get out on! Laaton ke bhoot baaton se nahi maante! Special (slipper emoji) waiting for you now @IamAbhiSharma4,” wrote Yuvraj on X.

Young left-handed batter Abhishek said the message from the team management was pretty simple “go out and express yourself” as Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Mumbai Indians in an IPL match that witnessed records tumbling like ninepins.

“To be honest I didn’t realise that it was the fastest fifty for SRH and for this year. I just wanted to go and express myself and after getting out I realised that it was the quickest. I enjoyed it,” said ‘Man of the Match’ Sharma after the game.

“I think the message was pretty much simple for all the batters in the meeting we had before this match. ‘Everyone just go and express yourself’. That’s a very positive message if you get it from your captain and coach. That’s really supportive for all the batters.”

US First Lady Jill Biden To Publish Children's Book On White House Cat

US First Lady Jill Biden To Publish Children's Book About White House Cat Willow

Washington:

The Bidens’ dogs grabbed headlines with their bad behavior, but “First Feline” Willow is getting a book all to herself.

First Lady Jill Biden has written a children’s story about the short-haired tabby’s journey from a farm in Pennsylvania to the White House in 2022.

With a June publication date, “Willow the White House Cat” will come out four months before President Joe Biden faces a bitter political catfight for reelection with Donald Trump.

“As Willow bounds from room to room, exploring history in her new home, she learns quickly about all of the incredible people who make the ‘People’s House’ run,” Jill Biden said in a statement through publisher Simon and Schuster.

“Making many new friends along the way, Willow’s journey gives the world a ‘cats-eye’ view of all the ins and outs of America’s most famous address.”

Willow is the last remaining presidential pet at the White House after two of the Bidens’ dogs were removed following a series of biting incidents.

Commander, a German Shepherd who arrived as a pup in 2021, was sent to live elsewhere after he bit several Secret Service agents. Another dog of the same breed, Major, went to live with family friends after similar biting incidents.

The Bidens’ beloved dog Champ died in 2021 at the age of 13.

Meanwhile, Willow herself has political chops. Like Jill Biden she hails from Pennsylvania, which will be a key battleground state in November’s election. She is named after the First Lady’s hometown, Willow Grove.

Jill Biden, 72, co-wrote the book with author Alyssa Satin Capucilli and illustrated by artist Kate Berube, the publishers said.

The White House has a long history of presidential pets — even if cats are a relative rarity — and a number of them had literary journeys.

First Ladies Hillary Clinton and Barbara Bush both wrote books about their pets.

Trump, who is aiming for a sensational White House comeback, was the first president since Andrew Jackson in the 1830s not to have pets.
