Distribution of saris, umbrellas to voters is an indication of lack of confidence of Raghunandan: Harish

Finance Minister T Harish Rao along is unveiling statue of former Dubbaka MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy in Dubbaka on Monday.

Siddipet: Finance Minister T Harish Rao has said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA M Raghunandan Rao was just inaugurating the works in Dubbaka Constituency for which former BRS MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy had laid a foundation before his demise.

Accusing Raghunandan Rao of making unrealistic promises during the by-election campaign, Harish Rao has said that the MLA had done nothing in the Constituency in the last three years. As he had failed to achieve anything, Raghunandan Rao was trying to influence people by distributing umbrellas, saris, and jute bags to them.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the integrated office complex in Dubbaka on Monday, the Minister maintained that the BJP MLA was trying to influence the voters since he had lost the confidence to give a fight in the coming assembly elections.

The Minister has also unveiled a life-size statue of Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy in Dubbaka on Monday. Recalling the role Ramalinga Reddy had played as a journalist, as an activist in the Telangana movement and as a legislator, he has said that Ramalinga Reddy had done a great job for the transformation of Dubbaka. The Minister said that Ramalinga Reddy had brought 2-BHK houses, an integrated office complex, RTC bus station and many others.

However, Raghuandan Rao had brought no projects to Dubbaka in the last three years. Rao recalled that Ragunandan Rao promised two bulls to every farmer, buffaloes, skill development centre, textile park, a train to Doulatabad, ring road, a free corporate hospital and many others.

The Minister has said that the people of the constituency had realised how they were cheated by the BJP MLA who made false promises. The Minister called upon the BRS cadre in Dubbaka Constituency to rededicate themselves and unfurl the BRS flag in Dubbaka by winning the seat again. Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, Zilla Parishad Chairperson V Roja Sharma and others were present.

Patna: In wake of the release of the caste survey duty, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar called for an all-party meeting on Tuesday to make policies in the interest of common people.

“The state government has released the report of the caste survey. We have called for an all party meeting where a senior officer of the government will give a detailed presentation about the survey report. Following that we will take the decision in the interest of common people,” he said.

The Nitish Kumar government has released the report of caste based survey where only the numbers of 215 castes are mentioned. During the survey, the state government had claimed that the social and financial status of people would also be released in the report.

However, it is not the case till now. Asked about the social and financial status of people not mentioned in the report, he said that let’s see what happens in the future. “For now, we want to know the views of every political party of the state,” he said.

Taking a dig at the Central government, Nitish Kumar said: Are they doing anything? What idea do they have? Why are they not conducting census in the country? Why are they not giving additional reservation to Extremely Backward Caste people? Have they done anything for the SC ST. Centre is anti-Muslim.”

James Webb Telescope Spots Jupiter-Sized Objects Floating In Space, Astronomers Clueless

James Webb Telescope Spots Jupiter-Sized Objects Floating In Space, Astronomers Clueless

These objects have been nicknamed Jupiter Mass Binary Objects, or ”JuMBOs”.

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), the most powerful telescope developed by mankind, has spotted Jupiter-sized ”planets” that are free-floating in space and not connected to any star, BBC reported. These objects have been nicknamed Jupiter Mass Binary Objects, or ”JuMBOs”.

Around 40 pairs of these were identified by the JWST during a survey of the Orion Nebula. Notably, these objects are too small to be stars, but also defy the conventional definition of a planet because they are not in orbit around a parent star. As of now, these mysterious objects have left astronomers clueless who are struggling to explain them.

The European Space Agency (ESA) team has given two possible origin explanations for these massive objects. The first one is that these objects grew out of regions in the nebula where the density of material was insufficient to make fully-fledged stars.

The second possibility is that they are planets that formed around stars but were eventually ‘kicked out’ due to gravitational interactions.

”The ejection hypothesis is the favoured one at the moment. Gas physics suggests you shouldn’t be able to make objects with the mass of Jupiter on their own, and we know single planets can get kicked out from star systems. But how do you kick out pairs of these things together? Right now, we don’t have an answer. It’s one for the theoreticians,” the European Space Agency’s (Esa) senior science adviser told BBC News.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Dr Ed Bloomer, astronomer at Royal Observatory Greenwich said, ”It’s happening in the Orion Nebula, a star-forming ‘stellar nursery’ where we have already seen hundreds of nascent planetary systems. Together, this points to the possibility that our existing models and explanations for planetary formation and evolution aren’t as complete as we’d like them to be – and I don’t think any astronomer would claim that we had explained everything in that area of astrophysics anyway. Potentially we’re looking at something very different from what anyone has seen before.”

The Webb telescope, which was launched in 2021 and began collecting data in 2022, has reshaped the understanding of the early universe while taking stunning pictures of the cosmos. Since becoming operational, Webb has revealed the existence of the earliest-known galaxies, and black holes, and unleashed a raft of unprecedented data. Webb is about 100 times more powerful than the Hubble telescope.

Now, Medchal Malkajgiri Congress president quits the party

Hyderabad: A day after Medak Congress president Kantareddy Tirupati Reddy resigned from the party, Medchal Malkajgiri Congress president Nandikanti Sridhar quit the party on Monday, citing injustice to BC community leaders in the Congress.

The Congress high command’s assurance to nominate Mynampally Hanumantha Rao, who joined the Congress recently, to Malkajigiri seat and also promising another seat for the latter’s son was the reason cited by both Tirupati Reddy and Sridhar for quitting the party.

They also questioned the party’s commitment in implementing the Udaipur Declaration in allotting only one ticket per family. Mynampally Hanumantha Rao has been claiming that he had been assured two tickets – Malkajgiri and Medak (for his son Rohit).

In his resignation letter to AICC Chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Nandikanti Sridhar said there was an injustice to BC community leaders in the Congress.

In 2018, Nandikanti Sridhar had aspired to contest from Malkajigiri constituency on the Congress ticket but his request was not heeded to by the party leadership.

This time, he was confident that party high command would offer him a ticket to contest the ensuing elections. But all his aspirations were dashed after Mynampally’s entry into the Congress.

“Mynampally Hanumantha Rao joined the Congress just a few days back. He had filed illegal cases against Congress workers in the past. Yet, the party is offering two tickets to him, ignoring my loyalty. This is injustice”, Sridhar said in the letter.

Former England cricket team skipper Michael Vaughan named his pick for the Cricket World Cup 2023 semifinalists and he believes that Australia will not be among the final four in the competition. The Australian cricket team is the most decorated side in the history of the Cricket World Cup with five titles but Vaughan said that he expects India, Pakistan, South Africa and England to fight it out in the business end of the tournament. India have won the tournament twice while Pakistan and defending champions England have won it once. South Africa have never won the title and have not even reached the final.

“Can’t wait for the World Cup to start this week .. My 4 semi-finalists will be … England, South Africa, India and Pakistan,” Vaughan said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday.

Earlier, Vaughan also said that whichever team can beat India may end up winning the World Cup.

“It’s quite clear to me .. Whoever beats #India will win the WC .. #INDvAUS .. India’s batting line up on Indian pitches is ridiculous .. Plus they have all the bowling options covered .. it’s the only the pressure of the burden that could stop them,” Vaughan had posted on X.

England will begin their campaign in Cricket World Cup with the opening match against New Zealand on October 5. India play their first game against Australia in Chennai on October 8.

The epic tournament features 10 nations playing 48 matches over 46 days at 10 different venues.
