Beirut-based Al-Mayadeen news network quoted the British maritime security company as saying that a merchant vessel was attacked by a missile 65 miles west of Hodeidah.
It also reported that the vessel was damaged as a result of the attack, but there were no reports of casualties among its crew.
Earlier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed on its X account that it had intercepted nine anti-ship ballistic missiles and two drones that were fired from areas controlled by Ansarullah in Yemen toward the Gulf of Aden and Red Sea vessels.
Yemenis have declared their open support for Palestine’s struggle against the Israeli occupation since the regime launched a devastating war on Gaza on October 7 after the territory’s Palestinian Resistance movements carried out a surprise retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, against the occupying entity.
Yemeni Armed Forces have said that they won’t stop their attacks until unrelenting Israeli ground and aerial offensives in Gaza come to an end.
The United States and Britain in December announced a military coalition to target Yemen in support of Israel.
