"Snow Pe Chalte Hain": Sarfaraz Khan Cracks Up England Star Shoaib Bashir

"Snow Pe Chalte Hain": Sarfaraz Khan Cracks Up England Star Shoaib Bashir

The Indian cricket team completed a heroic 4-1 series triumph against England, winning the last four matches after going down in the series opener. The emergence of youngsters in the absence of senior stars like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, etc. has been highlighted as one of the biggest reasons behind the team’s triumph. But, these youngsters haven’t just been entertaining with the bat and the ball but also with their antics on the field. Sarfarz Khan, who made his debut in this series, cracked up England’s Shoaib Bashir while fielding at short-leg during the Dharamsala Test.

With India only a couple of wickets away from wrapping up the series, Sarfaraz wasn’t happy to see the England tailender defending the ball successfully.

Sarfaraz then quipped: “Maar yaar jaldi, snow pe chalte hain upar, ghumke aayenge, chal! (Hit it quickly and finish the game, we will go up on the snow for a walk).”

Sarfaraz was one of the finds of the series for India, delivering solid performances since making his debut in the third Test. Bashir was also a consistent performer for England in the series, picking up wickets in big numbers, although he lacked support from another spinner from the other end to trouble India’s batting unit.

India’s Test series triumph over England lived up to the expectations as records tumbled even in the fifth game with the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravichandran Ashwin and James Anderson etching their names in the history books at the scenic HPCA Stadium.

The five-match series between two cricketing giants played home to 102 sixes to make the record for the most maximums struck in a Test series.

Throughout the series, India’s promising talent lived up to the expectations and delivered to fill in the holes left by the absence of some senior players like Virat Kohli and many more.

Among such players, 22-year-old, Yashasvi Jaiswal finished the series with an impressive tally of 712 runs to his name which included remarkable 26 sixes.

The southpaw batter became just the second batter to enter the 700-run club in a series and joined the elite company of ICC Hall of Famer Sunil Gavaskar who has achieved the feat twice in his decorated career.
