Amid escalating violence, Israel again attacks Palestinians waiting for aid in Gaza

The Israeli regime has escalated its months-long deadly aggression on the Gaza Strip, with the occupation forces once again firing at Palestinians seeking humanitarian aid.

Palestinian media reported on Wednesday that the Israeli warplanes bombed the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip over the past hours, shelling al-Hakar area in the city of Deir al-Balah in the middle of Gaza.

The bombardment left an unspecified number of Palestinians dead or injured.

The official Palestinian Wafa news agency said the Israeli regime also launched airstrikes on the southern Gaza Strip cities of Rafah and Khan Yunis.

The occupation forces continue intense bombardment in Hamad Town, Bani Suhaila, and other areas in northern Khan Yunis, killing dozens of people.

The sources added that a “number of civilians” were killed as a result of artillery shelling that targeted the vicinity of a-Shoka School, east of Rafah.

The Israeli occupation “committed 9 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, claiming 86 martyrs and 113 injuries during the past 24 hours.”

The Health Ministry added that “the toll of the aggression has risen to 30,717 martyrs and 72,156 injuries since the seventh of last October.”

The ministry underlined that there are still “a number of victims under the rubble and on the roads, and the occupation prevents ambulance and civil defense crews from reaching them.”

Moreover, Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen television network said “several” Palestinians were injured after Israeli forces started shooting at them as they were waiting to receive humanitarian aid in the south of Gaza.

In a similar attack last Thursday, at least 112 people were killed and more than 750 others wounded when the Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians, who had surrounded a convoy of 38 aid trucks in Gaza, with the Palestinian health ministry calling the incident a “massacre.”

The latest Israeli crimes come as NGOs and UN experts have on several occasions voiced fears of famine in the besieged territory, which has been completely cut off from aid by the occupation since October last year.

Israel launched the genocidal war on Gaza on October 7 in response to Palestinian resistance groups’ surprise retaliatory operation into the occupied territories.

Israel has vowed not to stop the aggression until the realization of its declared goals, including “destruction” of the Gaza-based resistance movement Hamas, which many dismiss as unattainable.
