Ali Bahadri Jahrami, the government spokesman told reporters at the presidential compound in downtown Tehran on Monday that the president Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, has left for the southeastern province to inspect and monitor the situation there and “will enter this vast region in a few hours.”
“In today’s meeting of the cabinet, the president ordered to provide relief and help to the people of Sistan and take necessary measures to prevent similar cases,” the spokesman added.
Sistan and Baluchestan on the shared border with Pakistan was recently hit with flash floods after torrential rains that damaged roads and infrastructure as well as people’s properties.
The armed forces and government bodies rushed to help the victims and the people in those areas shortly after the incident.
