Yashasvi Jaiswal is the name on every Indian cricket fan’s lips. The young opening batter struck his second Test in the Rajkot Test, playing a crucial role in India’s 434-run victory against England in the match. As the cricket world goes ga-ga over Jaiswal’s consistency at such a young age, a video of his has emerged on social media where the batter referred to a teammate of his, admitting that he is ‘afraid of him’.

The video emerged on social media where Jaiswal could be heard talking to a fangirl. As the girl asks Jaiswal to get her to speak to the player next to him, the opening batter refuses saying he too is afraid of him. Here’s the video:

Jaiswal struck back-to-back double tons in the second and the third Tests, helping India bounce back from the bruising defeat in the opening fixture and take a 2-1 lead going into the Ranchi Test.

The young left-handed batter opened alongside skipper Rohit Sharma in all the Tests, coming up with sparkling daddy hundreds–209 and 214 respectively.

Shubman Gill was full of praise for Jaiswal ahead of the start of the 4th Test in Ranchi.

“Jaiswal has scored two double centuries in consecutive Tests. It takes a rare talent to come up with such performances. Not many Test players across the world can boast of such performances. He is a sensational player and the cricketing world is taking note of his talent now,” Gill said at a pre-match press conference.

Jaiswal continued to rise in the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings after scoring an unbeaten 214 in Rajkot. The 22-year-old left-hander joined a select band of seven cricketers to score double centuries in two consecutive Tests. Among Indians, only the likes of Vinod Kambli and Virat Kohli have done so. Courtesy of his performances, Jaiswal progressed 14 places to 15th position in the ICC Test rankings for batters.
