The Indian cricket team truly found a new hero in Yashasvi Jaiswal, as the young opening batter registered his 3rd Test ton in the 3rd match of the series against England. Jaiswal played some brilliant stroke-making shots, especially against spinners, dealing in boundaries to strengthen India’s case in the Rajkot Test. Seeing Jaiswal take spinners to cleaners, former India cricketer Virender Sehwag took to social media to share an eye-catching for Jaiswal. The post reminded fans of an old remark from Sehwag where he refused to call off-spinners bowlers.

“Back-to-back centuries for Yashasvi Jaiswal. Treating spinners the way they should be treated,” Shewag tweeted.

A few years ago, Ravichandran Ashwin had revealed that Sehwag felt way too comfortable facing off-spinners and once even said that he doesn’t consider them bowlers.

“Viru said, ‘You know what, I don’t think off-spinners are bowlers. They do not trouble me at all. I just find it easy smashing them’,” Ashwin had said in an episode of What The Duck in the past.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if Ashwin spoke about this post by Sehwag again. This time, even the likes of Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja might have an opinion.

Jaiswal continued his heroics on Day 4, after leaving the field retired hurt on Day 3 because of an injury. Coming in to bat after the dismissal of Shubman Gill on Sunday, Jaiswal continued from where he left on Saturday and went past the 150-run mark.

On Day 4, Jaiswal didn’t just smash spinners to accelerate but also took the legendary England pacer James Anderson to clearners. Jaiswal famously hit 3 consecutive sixes to Anderson in the 85th over of the game, looking to race towards the 200-run mark.
