The Iranian embassy stated on its official account in cyberspace, saying that the Islamic Republic sincerely congratulates the successful holding of the presidential election and the reelection of President Ilham Aliyev.
The statement also read that the Iranian officials are confident a new chapter of the relationship between the two Muslim and brotherly neighboring countries will take place.
According to media reports, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev secured a fifth consecutive term in presidential elections on Wednesday, so he will stay in power for the next seven years.
