Speaking in a joint press conference with his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in Tehran on Monday, the top Iranian diplomat said that “The Islamic Republic of Iran has always insisted on avoiding the spillover of war.”
“The necessity of safeguarding the security of maritime navigation and shipping is emphasized by Iran, and this issue is also emphasized by the National Salvation Government of Sana’a,” he added.
“During a trip 2 weeks ago, one of the high-ranking officials from Sana’a assured us that they would not disturb the maritime security,” Amir-Abdollahian also said, adding that “But as long as the war and genocide in Gaza continues, they will act to block the way of the Israeli regime’s ships, as well as the ships that go to the Israeli ports.”
