The top Iranian diplomat was in Kuwait on Sunday to offer condolences to the people and government of the Arab country over the passing of Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah.
Later that day, Amir-Abdollahian shared a post on X, previously known as Twitter, about his short trip to Kuwait.
“I delivered President Ebrahim Raeisi’s condolence message to Kuwait’s new Emir Sheikh Meshaal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah over the passing away of the late emir,” Amir-Abdollahian said in his post.
The new emir sent his warm greetings to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the president, he added.
The top Iranian diplomat also said he had congratulated the new emir of Kuwait on his appointment and discussed bilateral relations with him.
Amir-Abdollahian added that he also discussed the latest developments with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, as he was welcomed by the top Kuwaiti diplomat at the airport.
