In a meeting with Safadi on Wednesday, Amir-Abdollahian thanked Jordan’s efforts to support Palestine and stop the war in the Gaza enclave by establishing a ceasefire and ending the Palestinian genocide.
Explaining the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran in support of the Palestinian people, stopping the Zionist regime’s attacks, and sending humanitarian aid to Gaza, the top Iranian diplomat emphasized the need for joint and multilateral efforts to end the Zionist regime’s attacks immediately.
Referring to the Zionist regime’s ominous plans to advance its expansionist plans and force Palestinian people to migrate from Gaza and the West Bank, he called for boosting efforts to support Palestinians and strengthening their resistance plus sending humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Safadi, for his part, referred to the latest developments in Palestine and Gaza, noting that the Palestinian people are not only dying from bombing but also from the lack of food, medicine and the destruction of residential places and hospitals.
Jordan’s foreign minister said that the priority of his country’s diplomatic efforts is to stop Israeli attacks, and the second goal is to send humanitarian aid immediately, noting that Jordan had made a lot of efforts in this area and would continue its efforts.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed some mutual and regional interest topics.
In a separate meeting in Geneva on Wednesday, Amir-Abdollahian met and held talks with Vatican Prime Minister Pietro Parolin.
Iranian Foreign Minister has traveled to the Swiss city of Geneva to take part in the Global Refugee Forum co-hosted by Switzerland and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva from 13 to 15 December 2023.
