Hamas recounts gains: Rocket barrage on Tel Aviv, killing Israeli minister's son

Hamas has recounted its most recent battleground gains against the Israeli military, which has brought the Gaza Strip, where the Palestinian resistance movement is headquartered, under a ferocious war.

Speaking on Friday, Abu Ubaida, spokesman for the al-Qassam Brigades, which is Hamas’ military wing, said the movement had unleashed “intensive rocket barrages” towards Tel Aviv and other targets across the occupied territories.

“They (resistance’s fighters) also targeted Zionist forces and vehicles entrenched in their positions with anti-armor shells and anti-personnel explosives, clashed with them at point-blank range,” the official said.

The confrontation, he added, had resulted in “inflicting confirmed deaths and injuries” among the enemy’s ranks.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Abu Ubaida confirmed the complete or partial destruction of as many as 21 Israeli military vehicles across the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours.

The occupying regime launched the war on October 7 in response to an operation staged by Gaza’s resistance groups, during which hundreds were taken captive from across the occupied territories.

Abu Ubaida went on to say that the resistance had managed to thwart an attempt by the Israeli military to rescue a captive soldier, which he named Saar Baruch. The enemy operation resulted in Baruch’s death as well as the death and injury of several other captives “due to the barbaric bombing of Gaza areas,” he added.

A day earlier, al-Qassam Brigades claimed responsibility for killing Master Sergeant Gal Meer Eizenkot, son of Gadi Eizenkot, who is a current Israeli war cabinet minister and former chief of staff of the occupying regime.

Hamas has hailed that the Israeli regime has failed dismally to attain any of its declared battleground objectives, including the destruction of the resistance movement, the release of Israeli captives, and the permanent displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.

The movement has also vowed to keep up resistance until the end of the Israeli war and has asserted that it can withstand the regime’s aggression for months.
