Protesters gathered in central Beirut on Wednesday (November 29) in support of Palestinians, demanding a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
“We support a (permanent) ceasefire and not just a truce. It is not a humanitarian cause, it is totally a political problem. It is not only about Gaza, but a national cause and the attempts to exterminate us whether in Gaza or in the West Bank,” one of the organizers of the protest, Laila al-Ali, said.
The gathering, in front of the United Nations headquarters building in Beirut, the ESCWA building, was held to mark the international day of solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Waving Palestinian flags, protesters held banners calling for the lifting of the siege on the Gaza Strip and an end to the violence.
