A ceremony was held at the Pakistani Embassy in Tehran on Sunday to commemorate the occasion of Kashmir Black Day, which marked the 76th anniversary of the Indian control of Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking in an interview with Mehr News Agency correspondent on the sidelines of the ceremony,  Pakistan’s ambassador in Tehran Muhammad Mudassir Tipu commented on Pakistan’s position regarding the tragic humanitarian situation in Palestine.

Answering a question about the cooperation of the Muslim states of Iran and Pakistan in preventing the tragic humanitarian situation in Gaza,  Mudassir Tipu said that he is very impressed by the courage of Iran in standing by the cause of Palestine.

Referring to a meeting held earlier this month between Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the Pakistani envoy said that the two countries have a lot in common with regard to the issue of conflict in Palestine.

“We will continue to closely coordinate our positions in this regard,” he said, adding, “We will do our best to resolve the issue based on the United Nations resolutions and international laws.”

The Israeli regime launched the war on Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas Resistance group waged a surprise attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, against the occupying entity.

Iran, Pakistan great next-door neighbors

Commenting on the level of Tehran-Islamabad cultural and economic ties, the envoy described Iran and Pakistan as two great countries and next-door neighbors that enjoy many opportunities and potentials.

Calling for increasing bilateral ties in customs, trade, investment, and economic fields between the two countries.

Stressing that the Iranian and Pakistani nations must know more and more about each other, the Pakistani top diplomat called on the media persons in Iran and Pakistan to play an active role in this regard.
