The foreign minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov is in Tehran to attend the 3+3 Format meeting later on Monday.
In the meeting, President Ebrahim Raeisi told Bayramov that the Islamic Republic of Iran wants engagement to resolve issues in the region.
“Iran stresses resolving the issues and problems of the region through interaction,” Raeisi said, after stressing Iran’s principled policy in rejecting foreign intervention in regional affairs.
Ayatollah Raeisi stated that, “I had previously told Mr. Ilham that the Zionist regime will not be your friend nor will it be a friend to any Muslim country,” adding, “Today’s situation in Gaza bears testimony to nations of the region.” He said that the Zionist regime and its Western backers can not be friends and sympathizers to the countries of the region, but they only pursue their racist interests in the region.
“Improving the level of interactions with Azerbaijan is one of the axes of Iran’s foreign policy,” the Iranian president added.
“Iran’s view on the prevention of countries beyond the region from entering the region is approved and supported by the Republic of Azerbaijan,” the Azerbaijani foreign minister said, in turn.
