The Israeli regime’s aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip has the potential to morph into a broader war as the Palestinian resistance groups and their allies have signaled their readiness to fight back.
Speaking to the Press TV website, Mark Dankof, a US-based broadcaster and journalist and former candidate for the US Senate, said the Israeli regime is dealing with a multi-front resistance this time.
Israel has been pounding the Gaza Strip relentlessly since October 7, after the Hamas-led Palestinian resistance movement surprised the regime with an unprecedented military operation.
The regime in Tel Aviv has since intensified its crippling blockade of one of the world’s most densely populated places, cutting food, water, electricity and fuel supplies to the besieged territory.
The bombardment has so far killed more than 4,400 Palestinians while injuring 13,500 others. Over 70 percent of the victims are children, women, and the elderly, according to Palestinian reports.
The Israeli regime’s bombing campaign has not even spared hospitals, churches and mosques.
“The Israeli war crimes, notably the bombing of the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza that led hundreds dead or wounded, simply underscore the criminal mentality one is dealing with,” Dankof asserted.
“Sadly, I believe the opening of multi-fronts against Israel is the only alternative.”
He said the resistance forces in the region have signaled their readiness to respond to relentless Israeli atrocities, which could set the stage for a regional showdown.
“Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian quite rightly talks of preemptive military action. Hezbollah is likely to commit some 100,000 men and 80,000 missiles and drones to the fight. Syria also might decide it’s sick of illegal Israeli air strikes against the country supporting terrorists brought there by the US and the Zionist entity in a regime-change operation ongoing since 2011,” Dankof noted.
Pertinently, Israeli airstrikes hit two main international airports in Syria on Sunday morning – Damascus and Apello – putting them temporarily out of service.
Dankof said the anti-Zionism activists in the US and Europe might also form another front against the Israeli regime in this bigger battle.
He drew parallels between the conflict in Palestine and the conflict in Ukraine, saying both are pushed by the Zionists as part of a “larger game plan” to destroy independent global actors.
“Between the crimes committed against the Palestinian people since 1947, and the crimes directed at Russia via illegitimate expansions of NATO, former US president Bill Clinton’s bombing of Serbia in 1999, the Orange Revolution of 2003-4 in Ukraine, the illegal US-backed coup in Kiev in February of 2014, the killing of 17,000 Russian ethnics in Donbas from 2014-2022, the fraudulent Western diplomacy inherent in Minsk I and II, the Nord Stream pipeline bombing, and the Daria Dugina assassination in Moscow on August 20th, 2023, the demonic character of what the United States and the West have sponsored in both Palestine and Ukraine becomes clearly evident,” Dankof stated.
The US-based analyst further noted that the “criminal activities” of this Zionist network can’t be stopped except through organized armed resistance movements.
“Violence possibly leading to eschatological apocalypse may soon become inevitable,” he warned.
