KTR seeks Rs 402 crore JNTU campus project’s early implementation

Hyderabad: BRS working president and Sircilla MLA KT Rama Rao has urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to expedite the construction of the permanent campus of JNTU Engineering College in Rajanna Sircilla district. He also requested the Chief Minister to direct officials not to issue notices asking the college to vacate its present premises until the permanent campus is completed or suitable alternative arrangements are made.

In a letter to the Chief Minister on Sunday, Rama Rao said the campus was sanctioned in 2021 with administrative approval of Rs 402 crore, but construction had not begun despite 20 acres being allotted at Mandepalli village. The college is currently functioning temporarily on the premises of a degree college at Agraharam.

He said proposals to shift the college to another private building could inconvenience students, faculty and staff, besides leaving the existing classrooms, laboratories and other infrastructure unused. He urged the government to release the necessary funds and begin construction at Mandepalli without further delay.

Emphasising the institution’s importance to students from Rajanna Sircilla district and neighbouring areas, Rama Rao called for immediate intervention to ensure that delays in campus construction did not disrupt their education.
