Some disappointing news from the tennis court as Indian women’s singles star Rutuja Bhosale has lost to Alex Eala of Philippines in the third round. She went down in straight sets.

Ramkumar Ramanathan third-round match against second-seeded Japanese player Yosuke Watanuki to a deciding third set. Watanuki won first set 7-5 but the Indian star levelled the scores by winning the second set 7-6 (3). Ramanathan is, however, trailing 3-0 in the third set.

Palak Joshi and Shivangi Sarma have failed to advance to the finals of their respective events. Shivangi Verma finished 17th in the women’s 100m freestyle event, Palak was (2:25.81) ranked 14 among 19 swimmers in the women’s 200m backstroke.
