The Palestinian issue has been one of the issues that has affected many issues and developments in the international arena since 1948. Many efforts have been made in past decades to marginalize the occupation of Palestine in order to legitimize occupation.

But the initiative of Imam Khomeini (RA) in choosing Quds Day was the first step to defuse this project against the Palestinian people. Following Imam Khomeini’s measure, various groups and individuals have taken many actions to defeat Israeli conspiracies.

The struggles and efforts of Martyr General Qassem Soleimani were among these measures. Palestine can be considered as the main focus of Martyr Soleimani’s thought.

Mitchell Starc, Australia’s World Cup-winning pacer, became the most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), after he was bought for Rs 24.75 crore by Kolkata Knight Riders at the Players Auction earlier this month. Starc became the second player to breach the Rs 20 crore mark during the IPL 2024 auction, following SunRisers Hyderabad’s Rs 20.5 crore bid for Australia captain and star pacer Pat Cummins. Starc, who went into the auction at a base price of Rs 2 crore, attracted bids from Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans, but KKR secured his services eventually.

After going wicketless in the first innings, Starc was destructive in the second, taking 4/55 in 13.2 overs at an economy rate of 4.10, derailing Pakistan’s 317-run chase with regular wickets.

In 263 international matches, Starc has taken 651 wickets at an average of 25.35, with the best figures of 6/28. He has 23 five-wicket hauls and two ten-wicket hauls in international cricket. Assam Police's New Year Advisory Has A Bollywood Twist

Assam Police's New Year Advisory Has A Bollywood Twist

New Delhi:

Assam Police has issued an advisory for the New Year’s Eve bash. The department has urged everyone to have “safe celebrations”.

In a post, shared by the department on X (formerly Twitter), we can see three frames carrying instructions but with a Bollywood twist.

Urging to maintain the volume of music while partying, the text on the first slide read, “Aunty police bula lengi. [Aunty will call the police]. Cut the volume. Party sensibly.”

For the unversed, the lines are from Badshah’s all-time hit Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai. The track was part of Sonam Kapoor’s film Khoobsurat.

In the next poster, the Assam Police urged the youth to not indulge in “drugs”, by using the lines from Emraan Hashmi’s killer hit track — Kaho Na Kaho.

The text read, “Kaho na kaho ye aankhen bolti hain. Don’t do drugs. Party sensibly.”

The Assam police also urged people to not drink and drive. “Pehla nasha, pehla khumar. Don’t drink and drive. Party sensibly.” Pehla Nasha, Pehla Khumar is from the evergreen film Jo jeeta wohi sikandar.

These posters were shared along with the text, “This festive season, here’s some food for thought. Blockbuster super hits of safe celebrations.”

In another post, Assam Police said that it has a special feast awaited for all the traffic rule violators. While the menu included some mouthwatering dishes, the police simply gave it a twist with some of the official departmental names.

The poster began with a header that read, “Feast with Assam Police- a culinary code for a safe New Year’s Eve celebration.”

The “Main course” included, “S.W.A.T. (Sandwiches with a twist) – sandwiches so safe, they come with a seat belt. Breathalyser Brownies- brownies with a friendly reminder to never underestimate the power of a breath analyser. Cuff & Cab combo- A delightful assortment of finger foods to keep you safe on the road. Momo Monitoring Platter- Monitoring is key, whether it is your plate or the road.”

The “desserts” menu included, “Cuffin’ cakes – Because we’d rather see you cuffin cupcakes than cuffs on New Year’s Eve. Custur-dy – Savour the sweetness of life responsibility, unlike reckless driving.”

In the “beverages”, the traffic rule violators will get, “Siren sips – refreshing beverages to keep you alert and sober.”

Sharing the post, Assam police wrote, “Join us for a taste of consequences you won’t forget. Rule Breaker Buffet- A special feast for drunk drivers and traffic violators on New Year’s Eve.”

Wishing everyone a happy and joyous new year.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted India’s twin wins at this year’s Oscars for the song “Naatu Naatu” from “RRR” and documentary short “The Elephant Whisperers” in his last Mann Ki Baat address for 2023.

In the 108th episode of the radio broadcast, the prime minister said the world saw India’s creativity and understood the country’s connection with the environment through its entertainment industry.

“Friends, when ‘Naatu Naatu’ got the Oscar, the whole country rejoiced with joy. Who was not happy when they heard about the honour given to ‘The Elephant Whisperers’? Through these, the world witnessed India’s creativity and understood our connection with the environment,” Modi said.

At the 95th Academy Awards, the foot-tapping Telugu chartbuster “Naatu Naatu”, composed by MM Keeravaani and penned by Chandrabose, won the best original song award and made SS Rajamouli’s “RRR” the first Indian feature film production to bring home the Oscar.

'Feels Good To...': INS Vikrant's Post After Getting New Radar, Missiles

INS Vikrant’s Refit: The warship was in the works for over a decade.

New Delhi:

INS Vikrant, India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier, is now equipped with a sophisticated guidance radar and surface to air missiles – a move seen as a crucial step towards its operational deployment.

The Israel-designed MF-STAR (Multi-Function Surveillance, Track and Guidance Radar) and Barak-8 MRSAMs (Medium Range Surface to Air missiles) – are of Israeli origin. The MRSAM is manufactured under license in India.

The MF-STAR-MRSAM combo is already in use of frontline Indian destroyers of the Kolkata and Visakhapatnam class. The MF-STAR is designed to detect airborne targets such as aircraft, anti-ship missiles and cruise missiles which the MR-SAM is designed to shoot down at ranges in excess of 80 kilometres.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi commissioned the country’s first home-built aircraft carrier in September last year, underlying his government’s efforts to boost domestic production to supply a military deployed on two contentious borders.

The Indian Navy has planned to deploy INS Vikrant on the eastern seaboard during Milan-2024, a flagship international naval exercise hosted by Vizag next year.

The 45,000-tonne INS Vikrant was built at a cost of Rs 20,000 crore and was commissioned in September last year. At 262 metres long and 62 metres wide.

It can have 30 aircraft on board, including MiG-29K fighter jets and helicopters. The warship can accommodate a crew of nearly 1,600.

India has started negotiations with France for the acquisition of 26 Rafale-M aircraft which are meant to replace the MiG-29Ks onboard the Vikrant.

The warship was in the works for over a decade. Multiple phases of sea trials of INS Vikrant have been completed since August 21 last year.

With INS Vikrant, India has joined a select group of nations, such as the US, UK, Russia, China and France, that can design and build their own aircraft carriers.

Ukraine used banned munitions on civilians in Belgorod

Nebenzya made the remarks on Saturday while addressing an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council that had been requested by Moscow.

According to Russian authorities, Kyiv’s missile attack on Belgorod killed at least 21 people and left at least 110 wounded, including 17 children. They added that the death toll included at least three children.

“To increase the number of casualties of the terrorist attack they used cluster munitions,” Nebenzya said, adding that it was a “deliberate, indiscriminate attack” against civilian targets, which included a sports center, an ice rink, and a university.

It was “a terrorist attack by the Kyiv regime against a civilian city,” the Russian envoy emphasized, adding, “The UN Security Council’s members have an opportunity to do their duty and assess the damage done to a Russian city.”

Earlier in the day, Russian officials said the Ukrainian attack on the Belgorod Oblast in the western part of the country had left many civilians, including children, dead and wounded.

The Russian Defense Ministry said more than a dozen Ukrainian missiles had been destroyed and 32 drones shot down in the Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, and Moscow regions.

The ministry added in its statement that the attack on Belgorod would “not go unpunished.”

Russia launched what it calls a special military operation in Ukraine on February 22, 2022, after the ex-Soviet republic declared its plan to join the US-led military alliance of NATO.

Since then, the United States and Ukraine’s other Western allies have supplied Kiev with tens of billions of dollars worth of weapons, including rocket systems, drones, armored vehicles, tanks, and communication systems.
