4.5 overs (6 Runs) SIX! BANG! Chris Green misses his length and is punished. He bowls it short and over middle. Yashasvi Jaiswal times this pull shot perfectly as he sends it flying over deep mid-wicket all the way for a biggie, the first of the match.

4.2 overs (1 Run) Tossed up and just outside off. Ruturaj Gaikwad pushes it to point and takes a quick single.

4.1 overs (0 Run) Floated up and on off, sort of swinging away from the batter. Ruturaj Gaikwad just blocks it into the ground.

3.6 overs (0 Run) On the hard length and into the batter. Yashasvi Jaiswal stands back and punches it back to the bowler. A good end to the over.

3.5 overs (0 Run) On length and outside off. Yashasvi Jaiswal slaps it to the fielder at cover.

3.4 overs (1 Run) Goes full now on the off pole. Ruturaj Gaikwad drives it to mid off and takes a quick single to get to the other end.

3.3 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Cut away! Jason Behrendorff misses his line as he pitched it a bit short and outside off. Ruturaj Gaikwad cuts it away in the gap through point all the way to the fence for his first boundary.

3.2 overs (0 Run) Shortish now angling outside off. Ruturaj Gaikwad cuts it to the fielder at point. Good bowling from Jason Behrendorff.

3.1 overs (0 Run) On the hard length and on off. Ruturaj Gaikwad blocks it staying back in his crease.

2.6 overs (0 Run) On the hard length and on middle. Yashasvi Jaiswal nudges it away to the fielder at mid-wicket. Ruturaj Gaikwad to face his first ball at the start of the next over.

2.5 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Third of the over! Ben Dwarshuis is being punished as he again bowls a full ball on the pads. Yashasvi Jaiswal picks it up well this time behind square where the ball runs away to the deep square leg fence for four runs.

2.4 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Flicked away! Ben Dwarshuis with another full delivery on the toes. Yashasvi Jaiswal flicks it perfectly over mid-wicket all the way racing away to the fence for four more runs.

2.3 overs (0 Run) A bit short and over middle. Yashasvi Jaiswal punches it on the off side only to be collected by the fielder.

1.5 overs (4 Runs) FOUR BYES! Unlucky! Jason Behrendorff drops it short and over off. Yashasvi Jaiswal is taken aback by the extra bounce as he gets out of the way. Matthew Wade also fails to collect it as the ball races away to the fence.

1.4 overs (0 Run) On the hard length and on off. Yashasvi Jaiswal punches it to the fielder at point.

1.3 overs (2 Runs) On a very good length and over off. Yashasvi Jaiswal pushes it on the off side towards point and sets off for a quick single. The batters gett a bonus run off an over throw.

1.1 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Finally! Jason Behrendorff bowls it on length and shaping away from the left-hander. Yashasvi Jaiswal drives it cleanly in the gap through point for a fine boundary.

Jason Behrendorff to share the new ball with Aaron Hardie.

0.6 over (1 Run) NOT OUT! Aaron Hardie bowls another quick one and on the hard length in line with middle and off. Yashasvi Jaiswal tries to play it across the line but is beaten and hit on the pads. A loud appeal which is turned down by the umpire. The Aussies have reviewed it. No spike on the Ultra Edge. The ball tracking confirms that the ball is pitching outside leg stump. Yashasvi Jaiswal survives but a brilliant over by Aaron Hardie.

A huge appeal for LBW but it is turned down. The bowler, Aaron Hardie seems very confident and skipper Matthew Wade does opt for the review. Nothing on UltraEdge and Ball Tracking shows that the ball is pitching outside leg. NOT OUT comes up on the big screen!

0.5 over (0 Run) On the hard length and just outside off. Yashasvi Jaiswal punches it to cover but is collected by the fielder. Good fielding and even better bowling.

0.4 over (0 Run) A bit short and over middle. Yashasvi Jaiswal stands back and punches it to mid off for another dot ball.

0.3 over (0 Run) On the good length again. Yashasvi Jaiswal drives it now to the cover-point region but fails to find the gap. Three dots in a row.

0.2 over (0 Run) On length and on the off pole. Yashasvi Jaiswal drives it down to the fielder at mid off.

0.1 over (0 Run) Beauty! Aaron Hardie goes full just shaping on the inside. Yashasvi Jaiswal swings hard but is beaten by the swing. Good start by Hardie.

We are all set for the match to begin! The umpires are now out in the middle and the players of Australia are taking their places on the field. The Indian opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad also stride out to the middle. Aaron Hardie has been surprisingly handed the new ball and he is raring to go. Let’s play…

PITCH REPORT – Murali Kartik is pitchside. He is joined by Matthew Hayden who starts by saying that one needs to know how much is enough and the wicket is nice and hard with a layer of grass on it. Adds that the ground dimensions are 74 meters uniformly but still it is a solid wicket and dew will play a role. Kartik adds the dew will intensify at around 8 pm IST.

The Indian skipper, Suryakumar Yadav says they would have loved to bowl first but he doesn’t mind batting first. Says the wicket looks good and it is the first T20I being played here so he is excited. Informs that they have four changes in total.

Matthew Wade, the captain of Australia says that he will bowl first. Mentions that there are five changes in the squad due to the players going back to Australia. He adds that the selectors and the coaching staff helped him a lot in this series and ends by saying he looks forward to this match.

Australia (Playing XI) – Josh Philippe (In for Glenn Maxwell), Travis Head, Ben McDermott (In for Josh Inglis), Aaron Hardie, Tim David, Matthew Short (In for Marcus Stoinis), Matthew Wade (C/WK), Ben Dwarshuis (In for Kane Richardson), Chris Green (On debut) (In for Nathan Ellis), Jason Behrendorff, Tanveer Sangha.

India (Playing XI) – Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer (In for Ishan Kishan), Suryakumar Yadav (C), Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (In for Tilak Varma) (WK), Axar Patel, Deepak Chahar (In for Arshdeep Singh), Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar (In for Prasidh Krishna).

TOSS – Australia have won the toss and have elected to BOWL first.

Australia too have a new-look side, yet again, as Maxwell, Inglis and Stoinis have flown home and the likes of Ben McDermott, Ben Dwarshuis, Josh Philippe and Chris Green have been included in the squad. They have a bit of momentum with the win in the previous game but given the chopping and changing of the playing XI, we have seen some patchy cricket from the Aussies. However, Jason Behrendorff has stood head and shoulders above the rest and his bowling will once again be key for the touring side. Can Australia level the series? Or will the inexperience of not playing in sub-continental conditions cost them dearly? We shall find out. Toss and team news in a bit.

India have had a couple of additions to the side with the likes of Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Chahar coming in and Mukesh Kumar also returning to the side after his marriage. But whether they come straight into the playing XI remains to be seen and if so, who does India bench? The batting, in general, has fired and they have put more than 200 runs on the board in all the previous three games. The key for Suryakumar Yadav and co will be to tighten up the bowling a bit and get that series-clinching third win.

Hello and a warm welcome to one and all! We are in Raipur for the fourth T20I between India and Australia. The hosts currently lead the five-match series 2-1, but the Aussies pulled off a remarkable run chase in the previous game thanks to some Glenn Maxwell magic and will look to convert the momentum into a series-levelling win.

TS PGECET likely to be scrapped from next academic year

The move is planned as demand for some ME/MTech programmes went down considerably over the past several years.

Hyderabad: Plans are afoot to scrap the Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET) for some PG engineering and technology programmes starting next academic year. The move is planned as demand for some ME/MTech programmes including textile technology, aeronautical engineering, and metallurgical engineering, went down considerably over the past several years.

The TS PGECET 2023 was conducted for admissions into regular 19 PG courses in engineering, technology, architecture and pharmacy. However, except for CSE, ECE, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering and MPharmacy, admissions in other programmes were not up to the mark.

While four students qualified in aeronautical engineering, none of them joined the programme which has 718 seats in 27 colleges. Similarly, none of the eight students who cracked the entrance test for textile technology took admission into the programme which has 18 seats. The metallurgy programme saw mere five enrollments as against 30 seats while only 20 out of 138 seats were filled in chemical engineering offered by three colleges.

If the entrance test is scrapped, admissions into programmes with less demand will be based on the merit secured by candidates in the qualifying examination and through a centralized process.

The TSCHE recently constituted a committee headed by JNTU-Hyderabad Vice Chancellor Prof. Katta Narasimha Reddy to come up with recommendations and eligibility criteria for admissions into PG engineering and technology programmes that have less demand among students.

There are plans to hold admissions into the two-year B.P.Ed and D.P.Ed programmes via an entrance test without the physical efficiency tests. A committee under the chairmanship of Palamuru University Vice Chancellor Prof. LB Laxmikant Rathod has been constituted to study and come up with modalities for admissions into physical education programmes.

Vijay Hazare Trophy: Hyderabad suffer narrow loss against Maharashtra

Tanmay’s ton, Kak’s five-wicket haul go in vain in Hyderabad’s third loss

Hyderabad: Hyderabad went down to Maharashtra narrowly by three wickets to suffer their third successive loss in the Group B Vijay Hazare Trophy match at the Jaipuria Vidyalaya Ground in Jaipur, on Friday.

Asked to bat first, Hyderabad rode on Tanmay Agarwal’s 117-ball 103 (9×4, 1×6) and half-centuries from skipper Rahul Singh, Rahul Buddhi and Ravi Teja to post massive 315/5 in stipulated 50 overs. In reply, Maharashtra reached the target with just two balls to spare. Kartikeya Kak returned with an impressive bowling figures of 5/60 but Ankit Bawne’s ton (113) helped Maharashtra chase down the target.

Earlier, Hyderabad lost Rohit Rayudu (0) in the second over before Tanmay and captain Rahul resurrected the innings with a 156-run second wicket stand. After Rahul’s dismissal, Hyderabad lost two more wickets in quick succession. Nitesh Reddy (6) and A Avanish (1) failed to get going as Hyderabad looked like squandering a good start.

However, Tanmay reached his century but was run out in the 40th over. Rahul Buddhi and Ravi Teja then provided the late flourish adding an unbeaten 89 runs in just 58 balls. While Rahul Buddhi (58) hit five boundaries and two sixes in his 53-ball essay, Ravi Teja, who hit 51 off 33, smashed four boundaries and three maximums.

Later, Kak provided a good start removing OM Bhosale (8) in the sixth over and Siddharth Mhatre (14) in the 10th over. Rakshann castled the stumps of Kaushal Tambe in the 16th over to reduce them to 85/3. However, Ankit Bawne hit a timely century (113 off 108) and added 166 runs for the fourth wicket with Azim Kazi (80 off 81) to put his side on course. Though he was dismissed in the 45th over, experienced Kedar Jadhav hit a 17-ball 32 to take his side past the finish line.

Brief Scores: Hyderabad 315/5 in 50 overs (Tanmay Agarwal 103, Rahul Singh 69, Rahul Buddhi 58 no, Ravi Teja 51 no) lost to Maharashtra 316/7 in 49.4 overs (Ankit Bawne 113, Azim Kazi 80; Kartikeya Kak 5/60).

Over 14,000 Dead In Gaza: How Israel Is Using AI To Conduct Air Strikes

Over 14,000 Dead In Gaza: How Israel Is Using AI To Conduct Air Strikes

The IDF claimed that till November 2, over 12,000 targets have been hit in 27 days of fighting

The fighting in Gaza resumed after a week after the truce between Israel and Hamas ended and casualties were reported in the first few minutes after the fighting resumed. Israel vowed to uproot Hamas after the deadly October 7 attack in which 1,400 were killed. Over 14,000 have died in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza.

Israel’s all-out ground and air assault in Gaza has brought the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) back into focus. In 2021, Israel launched ‘Operation Guardians of the Wall’ in its offensive against Palestinians in Gaza. The 11-day fighting is also known as the ‘First AI war’. The data gathered from AI tools were used to strike targets in Gaza.

“Gospel”, “Alchemist”, “The Depth of Wisdom”

In the ongoing war, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) is employing Artificial Intelligence for the selection of targets and conducting precision air strikes in Gaza. Systems like “Gospel”, “Alchemist” and “Depth of Wisdom”, that were used before are back.

Systems such as “Gospel” are being used to allow automatic tools to produce targets at a fast pace, and works by improving accurate and high-quality intelligence material according to the requirement.”

“With the help of artificial intelligence, and through the rapid and automatic extraction of updated intelligence – it produces a recommendation for the researcher, with the goal being that there will be a complete match between the machine’s recommendation and the identification performed by a person,” the IDF added.

In the 2021 conflict, data from Human Intelligence (HUMINT), Visual Intelligence (VISINT) and Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) are collected and fed into systems to help create data to conduct precision strikes. The data from satellites, ground intelligence and surveillance are all crunched into these systems.

“Mass Assasination Factory”

The IDF, in its article dated November 2, claimed that over 12,000 targets have been hit in 27 days of fighting, i.e., almost 444 targets a day. The increase in targets is due to data generated by AI.

“Gospel” can generate targets at an automatic rate and exceeds what was previously possible,+972 Mag and Local Call reported, adding, that this AI system, as described by a former intelligence officer, essentially facilitates a “mass assassination factory”. The recommendations are used to incorporate AI-based platforms like drones.

The AI platforms crunch data to select targets for air strikes. Ensuing raids can then be rapidly assembled with another artificial intelligence model called Fire Factory, Bloomberg reported. Fire Factory calculates munition loads, prioritizes and assigns thousands of targets to aircraft and drones, and proposes a schedule, the report added.

The data processed by an AI tool like Gospel was used by the IDF to select targets to be hit in Hamas, this includes Hamas operatives that have to be assassinated. The target division has helped the IDF build a database of what sources said was between 30,000 and 40,000 suspected militants, the Guardian reported.

Aviv Kochavi, who served as the head of the IDF until January, has said the target division is “powered by AI capabilities” and includes hundreds of officers and soldiers.

In the past, Israel Aerospace Industries and Matrix Defense partnered to incorporate AI to develop automated- target detection systems. The Rafael Advanced Defense Systems has incorporated AI into Spice Bombs and other technologies used for surveillance.

Israeli military says resumed fighting in Gaza

The Israeli regime army has issued a statement saying that it has resumed its military campaign in the Gaza Strip, claiming that Hamas violated the truce by firing into occupied territory.

International mediators, including Qatar, Egypt and the US, were on Friday pushing for another extension of the Gaza truce ahead of its expiration at 7am local time (05:00 GMT), Al Jazeera reported.

With no extension announced by the deadline, there were reports of gunfire and explosions in the north of the Gaza Strip, while the Zionist regime’s military said it had intercepted a rocket from Gaza.

An AFP journalist reported Israeli airstrikes, artillery fire seen in Gaza City the Zionist regime media said.

Photos on social media claim to show a recent strike,

Meanwhile, Lebanese Al-Mayadeen network reported fighting between the Palestinian resistance fighters and the Zionist regime military in the northwest of Gaza.

Fierce clashes were going on between the Resistance fighters and the occupying Israeli forces in the northwest of Gaza, Al-Mayadeen said.

According to the report, Resistance fighters confronted the tanks of the Zionist regime in that area.

The temporary ceasefire between Hamas and the Zionist regime ended today as deadline passed.

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, launched an operation against the Zionist Israeli regime on October 7 in response to more than seven decades of occupation of Palestine and nearly two decades of blockade of Gaza and imprisonment and torture of thousands of Palestinians. It killed more than 1,200 Zionists soldiers and settlers and took more than 220 of them to the enclave as prisoners.

In retaliation to Hamas’s operation, which was called the al-Aqsa Storm operation, the Zionist regime launched heavy attacks against Gaza and put the enclave under total siege.

More than 15,000 Palestinians have been killed in the Zionist regime’s attacks, while tens of thousands of others have been injured.
