4.6 overs (1 Run) Flatter one around off, this is just eased down to long off for a single.

4.5 overs (0 Run) Comes from around the stumps and angles it in on a length, Aaron Hardie reaches forward and makes the block.

Aaron Hardie is the new man in.

4.4 overs (0 Run) OUT! CAUGHT! Axar Patel now gets into the wicket-taking act and he gets the big fish. This is floated up outside off with a bit of pace on it. Travis Head stays deep and gets down on one knee looking to play the slog-sweep. Head throws the kitchen sink at it and ends up miscuing the ball completely. The ball is sliced in the air toward short third where Mukesh Kumar settles under the high ball and pouches it safely. A big reaction from the Indian players and Head departs after a fast start.

4.3 overs (1 Run) Shorter again on the stumps, Ben McDermott works it off the back foot through mid on and rotates the strike.

4.2 overs (1 Run) Shorter in length around middle, Travis Head pulls it off the back foot down to long on and picks up a single.

4.1 overs (0 Run) Straight to the man! Comes from over the wicket and bowls it full outside off, Travis Head drills it to the man at mid off.

Axar Patel is brought into the attack.

3.6 overs (0 Run) A huge appeal for LBW but the umpire says no! The bowler and the keeper look convinced and eventually, Suryakumar Yadav does review it. Ravi Bishnoi bowls this one flatter and from the front of the hand on middle, the ball slides on and beats the inside edge as Ben McDermott looks to block off the front foot. The ball thuds into the pads and there’s nothing on UltraEdge. Ball Tracking shows the wickets as umpire’s call and McDermott survives.

3.5 overs (1 Run) A touch short and wide, Travis Head rocks back and chops it wide of the man at point for a quick run.

3.4 overs (1 Run) Fuller in length around off, Ben McDermott looks to drive at it but gets it off the inner half behind square leg and gets off the mark with a single.

3.3 overs (0 Run) In and around the off stump, Ben McDermott works it away to the left of mid-wicket.

3.2 overs (0 Run) A big googly, full and thrown outside off, Ben McDermott looks to reach out and drive but gets an inside edge toward square leg.

Ben McDermott walks in to bat at number 3.

3.1 overs (0 Run) OUT! TIMBER! A wicket off the very first ball for Ravi Bishnoi but what was going on in Philippe’s mind there? Starts off with a full and quick one on off stump, Josh Philippe gets down for the sweep but is beaten for pace and ends up playing all around it. The ball sneaks under the willow and crashes into the off stump and Bishnoi has handed India their first breakthrough.

2.6 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Wow, make that 22 off the over! Full and on leg stump, swinging in, Travis Head stays deep and clears the front leg before whipping it toward cow corner for four more runs.

2.5 overs (4 Runs) FOUR MORE! Change of angle for Deepak Chahar but no change in fortune! This is floated up full and wide outside off, Travis Head stays leg side of the ball and throws his hands at it, gets enough timing to get it well over point for a boundary.

2.4 overs (6 Runs) SIX! Off the legs and into the crowd! Overpitched on the pads, at a gentle pace as well, Travis Head just flicks it away over the square leg fence for a biggie. 14 already off the over and Australia are flying.

2.3 overs (0 Run) Drags the length back and bowls it around the top of off, swinging away, Travis Head hops back and guides it toward short third.

2.2 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Thumped! Way too full and in the slot around middle, Travis Head gets the front leg out of the way and powers it down the ground for back-to-ack boundaries.

2.1 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Dispatched! A low full toss on off, swinging in, Travis Head stays put and whacks it flat over wide mid on and collects four more runs.

1.6 overs (0 Run) Back of a length, angling back into off stump, Philippe stands tall and punches it toward cover.

1.5 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Sublime timing! On a good length around middle and leg, Josh Philippe gets across a bit and uses his wrists to just clip it away past square leg for a boundary.

1.4 overs (0 Run) Slightly shorter and wider of the off stump, Josh Philippe doesn’t move his feet and looks to reach out but is beaten. This one swung away after leaving the batter.

1.3 overs (1 Run) Leg bye! Hard length on leg stump and shaping back in, Travis Head gets caught on the crease and the ball thuds into the pads before rolling toward backward point. Half an appeal from the bowler for LBW but it is turned down and they get a leg bye as well.

1.3 overs (1 Run) Wide! This time down the leg side! A touch fuller on the pads and swinging down leg, Head misses the flick but Jitesh Sharma does brilliantly to dive full stretch and save a certain boundary.

1.3 overs (1 Run) Wide! Short and wide, a bit too wide though as Travis Head fails to reach it and the umpire signals a wide.

1.2 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Up and over! Fuller delivery around off, Travis Head stays leg side of the ball, gets under it and slices it over the extra cover region for a boundary.

1.1 overs (0 Run) Swing and a miss! Starts on a hard length and angles it across the left-hander. There’s width on offer and Travis Head throws his hands at it but fails to connect.

Mukesh Kumar to operate from the opposite end.

0.6 over (4 Runs) FOUR! Gets bat to ball this time and gets off the mark with a boundary. Pitched up outside off and swinging away, Philippe leans on and strokes it a bit uppishly wide of mid off and the ball races away to the fence.

0.5 over (0 Run) Beaten again! Good length, outside off and swinging away, Josh Philippe looks to thrash it square through covers but is beaten on the outside edge this time.

0.4 over (0 Run) Beaten! Pitches this one up and around the off stump, swinging back in, Josh Philippe looks for the expansive cover drive but the ball zips past the inside edge.

0.3 over (1 Run) Swing! Very full at the toes, Travis Head looks to dig it out leg side but the ball shapes away and goes off the leading edge in front of mid off. The batters scamper across for a quick single. Suryakumar Yadav fails to collect the ball cleanly and Head had even given up there. A let-off this!

0.2 over (0 Run) Pitches this one further up on middle, swinging it in, Travis Head stays back and blocks it down the pitch.

0.1 over (2 Runs) Off the mark right away! Starts off with a shortish delivery on the pads, Travis Head hops and tucks it away behind square leg. Avesh Khan runs around from fine leg and gets a boot in to save the boundary, two taken and Australia are underway.

Raymond Directors Monitoring Situation Amid Gautam Singhania's Divorce Battle

Raymond Directors Monitoring Situation Amid Gautam Singhania's Divorce Battle

Billionaire Gautam Singhania announced separation from wife Nawaz Modi.

New Delhi:

Independent directors of Raymond Ltd on Friday said they are monitoring the situation arising out of the matrimonial dispute of company’s Chairman and Managing Director Gautam Singhania to ensure it does not affect his capacity to manage the affairs and business of the firm.

In a joint communication shared on BSE by the company, the independent directors also said they have decided to retain Berjis Desai, a senior independent legal counsel, who has no links with promoters or the company, for advising them.

“The independent directors (IDs), over the last few weeks, have been meeting and monitoring the situation so far as it affects the company and the minority shareholders; and reiterate their commitment to protect, at all times, the interests of non-promoter minority shareholders, employees and other stakeholders,” the communication said.

It further said, “The IDs are alert to ensure that the matrimonial disputes between the two promoter directors do not in any manner affect the capacity of the Chairman & Managing Director to manage the affairs and business of the company.” However, they asserted that “neither any law nor any corporate governance standard requires IDs to enquire into, investigate, or delve into the merits or otherwise, of such matrimonial disputes, which lie beyond the remit of the ID.” The independent directors shall continue to exercise utmost vigilance in watching the evolving situation and shall not hesitate to proactively initiate measures, the moment required, to protect the interests of all stakeholders.

Further, they said, “The IDs have decided to retain Berjis Desai, senior independent legal counsel, who has no links with the promoters or the company, for advising the IDs.” The development follows proxy advisory firm Institutional Investor Advisory Services (IiAS) asking the IDs to consider appointing an interim CEO and investigate the allegations of assault by Singhania on his wife and daughter, and use of company funds for personal benefit.

In an open letter to the company’s five independent directors, IiAS had suggested that they ask both Mr Singhania and his estranged wife Nawaz Modi, also a board member, to take time off from their responsibilities as board members.

The five independent directors to whom the letter was addressed are Mukeeta Jhaveri, Ashish Kapadia, Dinesh Lal, K Narsimha Murthy and Shiv Surinder Kumar.

IiAS, in its open letter on Tuesday, had also suggested to the independent directors that “to protect yourselves and delineate yourselves from the allegations, you may wish to retain independent legal counsel”.

On Monday, Mr Singhania, however, assured employees and board members that it is “business as usual” in the company and he is fully committed towards its smooth functioning.

In an internal mail to the employees and the board members of Raymond, Mr Singhania, who announced separation from his wife Nawaz earlier this month, said he has chosen not to comment on the reports in media “about matters pertaining to my personal life”, saying “maintaining the dignity of my family is paramount to me”.

“However, I remain resolute as Chairman & Managing Director and am fully committed towards the smooth functioning of the company and its business. Even in these difficult times for me, I assure you that at Raymond it is business as usual,” he said in his mail.

Earlier this month, Mr Singhania announced that he has separated from his wife Nawaz, in an announcement that comes amid speculation over the future of their 32-year relationship.

The billionaire industrialist, whose net worth is reported to be over Rs 11,000 crore, made the announcement over microblogging platform X, saying it was not the same Diwali as in the past.

The industrialist is helming the multi-decade old group having roots in textiles, which branched out into newer ones like real estate. The couple has two children.

US Senators Urge Biden To Impose China Travel Ban Amid Mystery Illness

'Should Not Wait For...:' US Senators Ask Biden To Impose China Travel Ban

China has asserted that it is a prevalent global issue.

New Delhi:

A group of Republican senators, led by Marco Rubio, have written to President Joe Biden, calling for a ban on travel between the United States and China until more is known about a respiratory illness that has been rapidly spreading in the Asian country.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has requested that China furnish comprehensive information concerning a recent spike in respiratory illnesses and pneumonia clusters among children.

“Dear Mr President, in light of an unknown respiratory illness spreading throughout the People’s Republic of China (PRC), we call on you to immediately restrict travel between the United States and the PRC. As you know, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has a long history of lying about public health crises. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the CCP’s obfuscation of the truth, and lack of transparency, robbed the United States of vital knowledge about the disease and its origin,” the letter from Senators Rubio, JD Vance, Rick Scott, Tommy Tuberville, and Mike Braun.

Throughout the Covid pandemic, the WHO repeatedly raised concerns about the lack of openness and collaboration demonstrated by Chinese authorities in their handling of the pandemic.

“We should not wait for the WHO to take action given its track record of slavish deference to the CCP. We must take the necessary steps to protect the health of Americans, and our economy. That means we should immediately restrict travel between the United States and China until we know more about the dangers posed by this new illness. A ban on travel now could save our country from death, lockdowns, mandates, and further outbreaks later,” the letter added.

The senators defended former US President Donald Trump’s decision to restrict travel from China to the United States in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. The travel ban, which was implemented on January 31 2020, was met with criticism from many, who accused Trump of “xenophobia” and “discrimination”, the letter claims.

However, the Senators argued that the travel ban was the right decision.

“History and common sense show his decision was the right one,” the letter reads.

What China Says

Addressing concerns surrounding a recent rise in respiratory illnesses in China, Foreign Minister Wang Yi asserted that it is a prevalent global issue and that Chinese authorities are effectively managing the situation.

“Recently we have seen some clusters of flu cases among children in certain parts of China. In fact, that is a very common phenomenon in many countries, and in China that has been put under effective control,” Mr Wang said as quoted by news agency AFP. “China’s interactions with the international community will not be affected by any factors, and we welcome more visits from friends from across the world.”

CCTV Footage Shows Man Being Attacked By 3 In Delhi, Cops Begin Probe

Delhi Police (Northwest) said they have not received any complaint yet. (Representational)

New Delhi:

The Delhi Police has launched an investigation after a CCTV footage surfaced purportedly showing three persons stabbing a man and hitting him with a brick in the Adarsh Nagar area of northwest Delhi, officials said on Friday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Jitendra Meena said they have not received any formal complaint yet.

“We have launched an investigation into the matter. We are in the process of identifying the victim,” Mr Meena said.

In the CCTV footage, a man wearing a black shirt and denims can be seen chased by three persons, one of them holding a knife.

The man fell on ground after running for several metres and the trio who were chasing him started thrashing him, one of them tried to stab him and another was seen throwing a brick on him.

A large number of men can be seen gathered at the spot. The footage showed a woman came out of her house and objected to it, following which the attackers fled leaving the injured man behind.

Opinion: Opinion: India Woke Up Late To Climate Threat. Better Late Than Never

On Wednesday, a day before the start of the COP28 meeting in Dubai, India took a significant step to secure its supply chain for critical green minerals like nickel, lithium, cobalt, and rare earth materials required to facilitate its green transition. It launched the country’s first-ever auction of 20 blocks of critical and strategic minerals spread across the country.

In September, India used its chairmanship of the G20 to shepherd a consensus agreement on ensuring a sustainable supply of such critical minerals within the framework of the “market economy and international trade rules”.

The presence of representatives of key G20 countries – United States, European Union, Australia and Argentina – all of whom echoed the agreement inked earlier this year, only confirmed the method in the plan among the like-minded to secure global supply chains. This may be too little, too late though.

Already the world’s ambitions of managing a green transition are hostage to the combined challenge of mining in dangerous locations and China’s dominance in processing. And, we know so well, especially in the aftermath of the covid pandemic, that supply chains are only as good as the weakest link.

This apprehension was reinforced with China kicking off curbs on graphite, a key material in EV batteries. The restrictions, which begin from 1 December, mean a license is needed for export. The move, seen as retaliation to the curbs imposed by the US on high-end silicon chips, only confirms the worst fears about the vulnerability of the global supply chain for critical green minerals.

Conflict Green Minerals

The path to net zero implies a pivot to renewable energy and this in turn requires access to critical minerals, metals and rare earth elements.

The problem is that most of these green minerals are located in countries with unstable regimes and prone to rampant corruption. As a result, the supply chain for these so-called conflict green minerals is inherently unstable.

What is worse, over the last two decades, China has inserted itself as an intermediary in the supply chain, leaving it in a position to weaponise access and hold the world’s green ambitions hostage.

China did precisely that, as the world’s largest supplier, when it imposed curbs on the export of synthetic and natural graphite. Given the adverse turn in geopolitics, especially the acceleration in decoupling between the US and China, this outcome is likely to occur more frequently.

History has shown us the damage a clutch of global oil producers can exact on the world. Indeed, if this is a cause for concern, the sourcing of critical green materials leaves the world equally vulnerable.

According to a recent study conducted by the Aspen Institute and submitted to the US Congress, the top three producers of critical green minerals control over 50 per cent of global production. In some instances, like lithium, rare earth elements, cobalt and manganese, the share of the top three is more than three quarters of global production.

The dominance of China in the processing of critical minerals is staggering. According to the Aspen study, in 2019, China’s market share in total global processing was 35 per cent for nickel, 40 per cent for copper, 58 per cent for lithium, 65 per cent for cobalt and 87 per cent for rare earth minerals.

Worse, this geographic dominance is unlikely to be reversed in the next decade – the period in which the world has to accelerate climate action to avoid global temperatures topping the ceiling of 1.5 degrees centigrade above pre-industrial levels.

Projections by the World Energy Outlook (WEO) 2023, released a few weeks ago by the International Energy Agency (IEA), reveals that in 2030 China’s share in refined cobalt production will remain unchanged, while it will drop marginally for lithium chemicals and yet account for over 50 per cent of global production.

India’s Plan

According to an internal committee appointed by the Ministry of Mines, India has an import reliance in 15 green minerals. In the case of 10 minerals, India is completely dependent on imports; it sources part of its supplies, including for lithium, cobalt, and nickel, from China.

While India woke up rather late to the strategic threat relating to the supply chain of critical green minerals, it has initiated a response on multiple fronts.

At one level, it is pursuing, in coordination with other key members, multilateral solutions at the G20 forum. At another, it has also engaged in mini-laterals, like the Minerals Security Partnership (MSP), which now includes 14 member countries piloted by the US.

Finally, it has launched efforts, beginning with the auction announcement on Thursday, to locate green minerals within India’s borders.

This rear-guard action should be welcomed and may return dividends in the long run. Until then, the world will be walking on eggshells while managing the desired energy transitions by relying on such a vulnerable supply chain.

Who Is Nikhil Gupta, Man Charged In Failed Plot To Kill Khalistan Terrorist

Who Is Nikhil Gupta, Man Charged In Failed Plot To Kill Khalistan Terrorist

The US has welcomed India’s efforts to probe the matter.

New Delhi:

Nikhil Gupta, an Indian national, has been charged by United States federal prosecutors with conspiring with an Indian government official to assassinate Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a Khalistani terrorist who holds American and Canadian citizenship, on American soil.

Gupta is accused of trying to hire a hitman but the hitman turned out to be an undercover US federal agent. Gupta, 52, is currently detained in the Czech Republic while awaiting extradition to the US. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

The Plot

A high-ranking Indian official, whose identity has not been revealed, stands accused of allegedly orchestrating the assassination plot targeting Pannun in New York City. The Financial Times, without naming sources, last week reported that US authorities had busted the assassination plot against Pannun.

In an indictment, US federal prosecutors have addressed the Indian official as “CC-1” and claimed he masterminded the plot from India to eliminate “an attorney and political activist who is a US citizen of Indian origin residing in New York City”.

“Beginning in or about early May 2023, in a series of telephonic and electronic communications between CC-1 and Gupta over encrypted applications, CC-1 asked Gupta to arrange the murder of the Victim in exchange for CC-1’s assistance in securing the dismissal of a criminal case against Gupta in India. Gupta agreed to orchestrate the assassination. In addition to their electronic communications, Gupta also met CC-1 in person in New Delhi in furtherance of the plot,” the US Department of Justice indictment claims.

On May 6, 2023, as their conversation on an encrypted messaging app began, the Indian government employee allegedly sent a message to Gupta stating, “This is (CC-1)… Save my name as (CC-1 Alias).” Gupta saved CC-1’s phone number under an alias. Shortly afterward, CC-1 sent another message to Gupta, informing him that they had a “target in New York” and another in “California,” according to the indictment.

Acting on CC-1’s instructions, Gupta allegedly sought the assistance of an individual he believed to be a criminal associate, who was, in reality, a confidential informant working with the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), to engage a hitman for Pannun’s murder in New York City.

Subsequently, CC-1 reached an agreement with the undercover officer, allegedly brokered by Gupta, to pay $100,000 in exchange for the assassination. Gupta, described as an “international narcotics trafficker” by the US, was detained in the Czech Republic in June 2023 on a request from the US.

Response

India called the US allegation of a government official directing a murder plot on American soil as a “matter of concern”, and announced that a high-level probe committee would thoroughly investigate the matter.

“As regards the case against an individual that has been filed in a US court, allegedly linking him to an Indian official, this is a matter of concern,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said at a media briefing on Thursday. “We have said and let me reiterate that this is also contrary to government policy.”

The US has welcomed India’s efforts to probe the matter.

“The (Indian) government announced today that it was conducting an investigation, and that’s good and appropriate, and we look forward to seeing the results,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Thursday. “So you’ll understand I can’t comment on it in detail. I can say that this is something we take very seriously. A number of us have raised this directly with the Indian Government in past weeks.”

Gaikwad Makes History, Surpasses KL Rahul To Claim Sensational T20 Record

Rinku Singh blazed away to a 29-ball 46 while Jitesh Sharma smashed 35 in 19 balls before Australia pulled things back to stop India at 174 for nine in the fourth T20 International in Raipur on Friday. Cruising at 167 for four in 18.3 overs, India lost five wickets for only seven runs in the last two overs, thanks to Ben Dwarshuis (3/40) and Jason Behrendorff (2/32) after Australia opted to bowl first. Aaron Hardie started the match with a maiden over before Yashasvi Jaiswal (37 off 28 balls) got off the mark with a lovely cover drive Jason Behrendorff. The 21-year-old Jaiswal launched into Ben Dwarshuis in the third over, hitting the left-arm seamer for three boundaries to set the tone for the hosts.

Ruturaj Gaikwad (32 off 28 balls) watched the action from the other end as Jaiswal went after the bowling and when the former did get strike for the first time in the fourth over, he employed the cut shot off a Behrendorff delivery to open his account with a boundary.

Fastest to 4,000 runs (by innings taken) in Men’s T20 cricket

107 – Chris Gayle

113 – Shaun Marsh

115 – Babar Azam

116 – Devon Conway

116 – Ruturaj Gaikwad

117 – KL Rahul

Jaiswal continued with his aggressive ways and played debutant spinner Chris Green through the off-side for a four before smashing him over the midwicket fence for a six.

Recalled into the attack to stem the flow of runs, Hardie was hit straight down the ground for a four by Jaiswal, but the decision to bring him back ended in a success as Australia got their first breakthrough in the left-handed opener.

Going for one too many, Jaiswal could not connect well enough and Ben McDermott completed a good catch running from mid-on, as India reached 50 for one at the end of powerplay.

Joining the side after a small break following the World Cup, vice-captain Shreyas Iyer (8), looking to hit leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha out of the ground, could not get enough power or elevation and Green took the catch at long-on.

Skipper Suryakumar Yadav (1) casually edged Dwarshuis to the keeper, leaving India at 63 for three in the beginning of the ninth over and the crowd at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium silent.

The partisan spectators were however not required to keep quiet for long as Rinku Singh got going straightaway, his customary powerful strokes aiding him.

Rinku and Ruturaj added 48 runs for the fourth wicket before the latter was dismissed by Sangha. But that did not deter Rinku from playing his natural game and he found an able ally in Jitesh, the two adding 50 runs in just 29 balls to lift India’s run rate.

Jitesh, however, fell when he was looking good to add a few more runs to his total.

Humanitarian Pause Ended Because Of Hamas, Says Blinken

Humanitarian Pause Ended Because Of Hamas, Says Blinken

Blinken said that the US is focusing on the release of Israeli hostages.

Dubai:

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Saturday that the pause in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict ended due to Hamas, claiming the terror group ‘reneged’ on commitments.

While speaking to the media at Dubai airport, he said, “I made clear that after the pause it was imperative that Israel put in place clear protections for civilians and for sustaining humanitarian assistance going forward. And as we’ve seen just today, Israel has already moved out on parts of that, including sending out information, making it clear where people can be in safe areas in Gaza. And we’ll be looking at that going forward. It’s very, very important.”

He highlighted that the end of the pause resulted from Hamas breaking commitments, citing a terrorist attack in Jerusalem and firing rockets before the pause ended.

“It’s also important to understand why the pause came to an end. It came to an end because of Hamas. Hamas reneged on commitments it made. In fact, even before the pause came to an end, it committed an atrocious terrorist attack in Jerusalem, killing three people, wounding others, including Americans. It began firing rockets before the pause had ended. And as I said, it reneged on commitments it made in terms of releasing certain hostages.”

Blinken reiterated US support for peace in the region, and said that the US is focusing on the release of Israeli hostages.

“We’re determined to do everything we can to get everyone home, get them reunited with their families, including pursuing the process that worked for seven days. We had seven days of a pause; seven days of people coming home and being reunited with their families,” he said.

“So, we’re on that almost hour by hour. But meanwhile, we’ve also been very clear that we support Israel and its efforts to make sure that October 7th never happens again. We’ve also been very clear about the imperative of doing that in a way that puts a premium on protecting civilians and making sure that humanitarian assistance gets to those who need it. So that’s what we’re focused on, and we’re doing both at the same time,” he added.

“We remain intensely focused on getting everyone home, getting hostages back. It’s something that I also worked on today. So, we’re still at this. We’re also very much focused, as we’ve been all along, on trying to make sure that this conflict doesn’t spread, that it doesn’t escalate in other places. But we’re also using our diplomacy to look at not only what’s happening today and how we’re handling that, but also what happens the day after in Gaza and how we can get on the path to a just, lasting, and secure peace for Israelis, for Palestinians – in fact, for everyone in the region. And that’s also a big focus of our diplomacy,” he added.

This statement from US Secretary of State Blinken comes as the agreed truce between Israel and Hamas expired after seven days, according to CNN.

Meanwhile, Israel and Hamas resumed their war in the Gaza Strip on Friday morning after a week-long truce ended with the two sides failing to agree on the release of more hostages held by the Hamas group.

Israeli jets struck Hamas targets in Gaza soon after the cease-fire finished at 7 a.m. local time.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Blinken held a crucial meeting with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah on Thursday (November 30), marking his second visit to the West Bank since the onset of the Israel-Hamas war, as reported by CNN.

His visit was in the backdrop of increased Israeli settler violence in the region following the October 7 attack on Israel.
