Leader urges halting oil, commodities exports to Tel Aviv

On the verge of Student Day and the National Day, which falls on the 13th day of the Iranian calendar month of Aban (November 4), the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei received a large number of students.

The 13th of Aban is the anniversary of the 1979 takeover of the US embassy in Tehran, which is marked every year with nationwide rallies.

Speaking at the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei said the 1979 takeover of the US embassy in Tehran by students was a blow by the Iranian nation to Washington.

“The US was disgraced on [November 4, 1979]. This was the blow of the Iranian nation to America,” he said.

He explained that the Americans harmed the Iranian nation on two November 4 occasions, one being in 1964, when they forced Imam Khomeini into exile, and the second being the massacre of students in Tehran in 1978 at the hands of the former Pahlavi regime.

“During the fateful days of the Iranian nation’s revolutionary movement, the Shah’s police slaughtered students right in front of the University [of Tehran],” he noted.

“It was ten months after the victory of the Revolution, [on November 4, 1979], when the students entered the [US] embassy, captured the embassy, and revealed the secrets and confidential documents of that embassy,” the Leader added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader lauded the Palestinians for their resistance and steadfastness in the face of the Israeli regime’s atrocities in the besieged Gaza Strip, stating that their resilience has aroused the human conscience.

“What Muslim states must insist on is the immediate cessation of [Israeli] crimes in Gaza. They must promptly stop the bombardment of Gaza, and stop the export of oil and other commodities to the Zionist regime,” he said.

“Muslim states must not cooperate economically with the Zionist regime, but denounce these catastrophes and crimes vociferously and without hesitation in all international forums.”

“The scale and circumstances of what is going on must be clarified. The Zionist regime must be condemned, and the entire Muslim world must be mobilized against it,” the Leader added.

Who is Hananya Naftali, social media-savvy propagandist for Israeli regime?

By David Miller

Israeli regime premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s close aide, Hananya Naftali, styles himself as a social media influencer. He was perhaps the first to claim the bombing of the Al-Ahli Hospital in the besieged Gaza Strip was carried out by the occupation forces.

On October 17, Naftali posted on X, formerly Twitter, that the Israeli occupation forces “struck a Hamas terrorist base inside a hospital.”

Shortly after, he deleted the post, apologising for the misinformation. “I mistakenly shared this information… I apologize for this error. As the IDF does not bomb hospitals,” he wrote.

But who is Hananya Naftali? Unsurprisingly, it turns out that he has made a career out of peddling lies and propaganda for the Zionist entity.

Naftali likes to mislead on his origins.  Here he is on October 15, falsely claiming to have been “born and raised” in “Israel”.  He has been making this claim for years such as here back in 2014 when he claimed to be a “Native born Israeli Jew”.

He is in fact the child of Russian settler colonists who it is falsely claimed were refugees.

In fact they were smuggled out of Russia by Zionist agents in the Jewish Agency, one of the four so-called “national institutions” of the Zionist entity, which is responsible for encouraging settler colonists to occupy Palestine.

Born in Safed, he grew up in what the Zionists call “Samaria” – an illegal settlement built on the Palestinian land, occupied by the Israeli regime.

Naftali also likes to pretend he is a civilian social media influencer. He describes himself on his X profile as a “media personality”.

According to his online biography, Naftali is an “Israeli Jewish influencer and human rights activist.” He and his wife, India, who is an American settler colonist, shot a video together in their personal bomb shelter on October 7 which reportedly went viral on social media.

In the video, he claimed to be a “civilian” under threat from “Hamas rockets”. But his back story indicates that this too was a lie.

Naftali was in the occupation forces terrorising Palestinians during 2014 Operation Protective Edge. He was also involved in the regime operation in the Golan to patch up fighters including from Nusra the Syrian affiliate of al Qaeda and send them back to the regime change operation targeting the Syrian government.

He has remained in the occupation forces reserves ever since. Netanyahu hired him in 2018 as a social media adviser and when he married his wife India, Netanyahu himself gave a speech that is still available on the internet.

When he posted his Tweet on the hospital bombing on October 17, he was still claiming to be a civilian but it is clear from other social media posts that on Oct. 9 on X he said he was recently called up to fight for the Israeli military.

In an Oct. 14 Facebook video where he appeared in military uniform, he claimed that he had already been called by Netanyahu to join a “digital media task force” to defend the regime in the media sphere.

As expected, his social media work contains an undiluted stream of lies and misinformation

  • He suggests that illegal settlements are not built on “empty” land. The fact is that the land was taken by the Israeli military forces and Palestinians were ethnically cleansed and their land was stolen.
  • He uses memes to brazenly justify the genocidal war crimes of the Zionist entity in Gaza today such as in this one blaming Hamas for cutting off the water to the besieged strip. The whole world knows that this was done by the Zionist entity.

Perhaps his worst intervention was also hastily removed from the internet, but not before it was screengrabbed and posted online.

On his Farsi language X account, he posted a photo of dead Palestinian children with the message: “The world should thank us for destroying these little time bombs. In fact, we are preventing similar events from happening to other nations in the coming years.”

The idea of children as “time bombs’ is not an aberration of Naftali’s thinking. It is deeply ingrained in Zionist propaganda as can be seen in this image of the propaganda “war room” on the campus of the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Israel’s only private university from back in 2009. As is well known the IDC (recently renamed Reichman University).

The war room was created by StandWithUs a group active in occupied Palestine, the US and the UK amongst other places. It was created with help from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is a direct regime asset.

The poster in the background asks if the child in the picture will grow up to be a doctor, teacher or “terrorist”. StandWithUs also used a version of the poster in an ad campaign on the San Francisco Bay Area metro system, known as the BART, in 2011.

Of course, whatever a Palestinian child grows up to be, they will be targeted by the Zionist occupation forces, if they have not already been massacred as children.

David Miller is the producer and co-host of Press TV’s weekly Palestine Declassified show. He was sacked from Bristol University in October 2021 over his Palestine advocacy.

Iran slams Israeli regime representative's odious behavior

Amir Saeed Iravani said so in letters sent to Secretary-General of the UN Antonio Guterres and President of the Security Council of the UN Sérgio França Danese on Tuesday (October 31, 2023) local time.

Below is the full text of Iravani’s letter:

I am writing to express my strong condemnation and categoric rejection of the recent hate speech, racist remarks, and unfounded allegations made by the representative of the Israeli regime against my Country during the emergency session of the UN Security Council held on October 30, 2023, under the agenda item “The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question” (S/2023/9462). Given the format of the meeting, which prevented the Iranian delegation from participating and responding to the unfounded accusations made against my Country, I would like to bring the following points to the attention of the Council members:

1. Once again, the Israeli regime’s representative misused the Security Council chamber to spread Iran’s phobia and made fabrications and baseless accusations against Iran. Not content with these unfounded allegations, he then resorted to spreading lies, disinformation, and hateful and inflammatory language, while attacking the dignity of Iranian officials. This odious behavior is a clear example of promoting hatred and should be unequivocally condemned.

2. This provocative and irresponsible behavior is entirely consistent with the Israeli regime’s long record of utilizing deception and lies as tools. Just last week, following the United Nations Secretary-General’s fact-based statement during the UN Security Council open debate on the Palestine issue held on 24 October 2023 (S/2023/9451), in which he correctly stated that Hamas’s actions did not occur in isolation or in a vacuum, the Israeli regime’s representative attacked the Secretary-General’s dignity and engaged in hate speech, even going so far as to demand his resignation as the highest official of the United Nations.

3. The authorities of this regime openly disregard any respect or acknowledgment of the United Nations and openly declare non-compliance with UN resolutions. However, they opportunistically utilize the UN platform to propagate hate, disseminate disinformation, and divert international attention away from the severe atrocities being perpetrated against the Palestinian people in occupied Palestine. This manipulation is facilitated by the unwavering support of the United States.

4. Israel, the occupying apartheid regime, has continued to blatantly violate the fundamental principles and norms of international law, notably international humanitarian law and international human rights law, in occupied Palestine for over seven decades. These violations include brutal massacres, the forced displacement and transfer of civilians, the deliberate targeting of civilians, notably women and children, as well as critical and civilian infrastructure, and the use of starvation as a method of warfare against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. All these criminal actions constitute the gravest international crimes, and their documentation by relevant international bodies is meticulous and extensive. As a result, the Israeli regime must be held accountable and not be permitted to evade responsibility or avoid punishment through disinformation campaigns or by attempting to shift blame onto others.

5. The Islamic Republic of Iran calls upon the international community, in particular the UN Security Council, to fulfill its responsibilities and take resolute actions. These actions must compel the Israeli regime to end its occupation, cease its acts of aggression, and adhere unwaveringly to its international obligations under international humanitarian law and international human rights law.

6. I would like to take this opportunity to categorically reject the unsubstantiated allegations against my Country in the letters dated 24 August, 8 and 11 October 2023 from the representative of the Israeli regime addressed to the Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council (S/2023/623, S/2023/744, S/2023/756). It is evident that the Israeli regime is attempting to justify and conceal its criminal acts and atrocities against the Palestinian people in occupied Palestine, along with its persistent breaches of UNSCR 1559 (2004) and 1701 (2006), by levying such unfounded accusations.

I should be grateful if you would circulate the present letter as a document of the Security Council.

Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.

Iran FM meets Turkish counterpart to discuss Israeli war on Gaza

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has met with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan to discuss efforts needed for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, as the Israeli regime continues its acts of aggression against the besieged enclave.

The two foreign ministers held a meeting behind closed doors in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Wednesday, to exchange views on finding a solution to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and an immediate end to the Israeli crimes in Gaza, as they discuss the latest developments in the region and some issues of mutual interest.

Amir-Abdollahian and Fidan will participate in a joint press conference after the meeting.

This is the second meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries since the Israeli regime started its brutal war against the Palestinians living in Gaza.

Two weeks ago, Amir-Abdollahian and Fidan met on the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed the current Palestinian developments, especially the disastrous situation in Gaza, and ways of ending the merciless killing of Palestinians by the Israeli regime.

Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Ankara early on Wednesday a day after he took a trip to the Qatari capital of Doha and held meetings with senior Qatari officials, including the Arab country’s Emir, to continue his diplomatic efforts to help find a solution to the crisis in Palestine.

The top Iranian diplomat is also scheduled to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during the daylong trip.

Tehran has already announced it is ready to use its relations with the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas to work out a ceasefire deal between the group and the Israelis, although Iran does not have any relations with the occupying regime.

Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7 after Hamas waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in response to the Israeli regime’s decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.

The aggression has so far killed 8,610 Palestinians and left more than 23,000 wounded.
