BJP Leaders Distribute Masks At Connaught Place, Slam AAP For Air Pollution

Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva said people in Delhi are facing respiratory diseases.

New Delhi:

Delhi BJP leaders distributed face masks at Connaught Place on Wednesday, slamming the Arvind Kejriwal government over rising air pollution in the city.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said the masks were distributed not to create fear among people but to help them avoid pollution in Delhi.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari claimed that there is a rush of people at the city’s hospitals which revealed that the state of pollution in the city was “very bad”.

Mr Sachdeva said people in Delhi are facing respiratory diseases. “But the Kejriwal government is running away from its responsibilities,” he charged.

The air pollution problem of Delhi is not limited to two months in the winter and it requires work throughout the year to solve it, the Delhi BJP chief said.

“The biggest reason behind air pollution in Delhi is road dust and stubble burning in Punjab, but instead of working on these issues, the government has imposed various types of controls to trouble people without any reason,” he said.

Mr Tiwari, who claimed pollution is reducing the lifespan of the people, also targeted Mr Kejriwal.

He said earlier Mr Kejriwal used to blame crop stubble burning in Punjab for air pollution in Delhi. After the AAP formed the government in Punjab, now he is blaming the governments of Haryana and UP, Mr Tiwari said.

Resistance Front turned into huge international front

Tehran’s interim Friday prayers leader Ayatollah Kazem Sedighi made the remarks while speaking at the sermons of Friday prayers.

Referring to the recent developments in the Gaza Strip, Ayatollah Sedighi hailed the support of Resistance groups in Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq for the Palestinian people against the Israeli regime’s crimes.

Pointing out the recent remarks made by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, he expressed hope that Islamic states would cut ties with the Israeli regime and boycott the occupying entity.

The Israeli regime has been waging a barbaric war against Gaza since October 7, when Hamas-led Palestinian Resistance groups launched their biggest operation against the Zionist regime in years. The sneak attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, came in response to the regime’s intensified crimes against the Palestinian people.

The Israeli war has so far claimed the lives of over 9,000 innocent Palestinians and left upwards of 32,000 others wounded.

The United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly passed a resolution, calling for the implementation of an immediate “humanitarian truce” in Gaza. The Israeli regime has rejected all calls for a ceasefire, claiming it would benefit Hamas.
