Eight persons were arrested after police allegedly caught them transporting around 13 kg of deer meat near Raikal Toll Plaza in Telangana. An air gun and two vehicles were seized, while police and Forest Department officials are investigating the alleged hunting.

Hyderabad: Eight persons were arrested by the police after they were allegedly caught transporting around 13 kg of deer meat near Raikal Toll Plaza on Sunday.
The Future City Special Operations Team (SOT) intercepted the two vehicles in which the suspects were allegedly carrying the meat. An air gun, suspected to have been used for hunting, was also seized along with the vehicles.
The suspects were taken to Kothur police station for questioning.
Following the arrests, forest department officials were alerted and reached the station to gather details and assist in the investigation.
Police and Forest Department officials are questioning the suspects to establish where the deer was allegedly hunted and how the meat was transported.
The seized air gun and vehicles are also being examined.
Kothur police said a case would be registered and the suspects would be produced before court for further proceedings.
