Peddapalli/Karimnagar: A 49-year-old biscuit trader was killed on the spot after a speeding lorry mowed down his two-wheeler at Medipalli crossroads in NTPC on Sunday morning.
Police said Arun Kumar from Mancherial suffered fatal injuries after the lorry dragged his motorcycle for about 200 metres. He was crossing the road when the mishap occurred. A case has been registered against the lorry driver, who fled the spot after the accident. A search has been launched to nab the accused.
Meanwhile, Sandhi Thirupathi Reddy (38), a driver, was killed on the spot after a sand-laden lorry allegedly ran over him at Challur village in Veenavanka mandal on Saturday evening. He sustained serious head injuries, and death was instantaneous. He is survived by his wife, daughter and son.
