Leader awards 'Medal of Conquest' to IRGC, Army

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has awarded the “Medal of Fat’h (Conquest)” to the chief commanders of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Army.

Ayatollah Khamenei on Sunday awarded the medal to Major General Hossein Salami, the chief commander of the IRGC, and Iran’s Army Chief Commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi to express his approval of the two leading forces.

Speaking at the concluding ceremony of a conference on military service in Tehran, Salami said he held a meeting with Ayatollah Khamenei, who is also Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, and received the award.

He added that Ayatollah Khamenei gave the IRGC a clear symbol of his satisfaction with all the endeavors of the elite force.

Salami noted that the Medal of Conquest had been symbolically presented to him by the Leader but it actually belonged to all members of the IRGC who defend the country’s integrity and independence.

He emphasized that the IRGC is always on the move and there is no end to its path.

The IRGC chief commander said going down the right path leads to achieving all the goals, adding, “Immobility has no place in the IRGC logic.”

Back in August, Ayatollah Khamenei praised the IRGC as “the world’s biggest anti-terrorism organization.”

“It is a well-equipped military organization. It is an efficient and independent organization capable of carrying out tasks that many of the world’s major militaries cannot accomplish,” Ayatollah Khamenei added.
