Over 130 students with special needs visit IIT Hyderabad campus

Over 130 students with special needs from Sangareddy visited IIT Hyderabad as part of the Visit IITH initiative. Students toured departments and laboratories, interacted with faculty and received encouragement from Director Prof. B.S. Murty to pursue ambitious goals

Sangareddy: Over 130 students with special needs from Sangareddy district visited the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) as part of an initiative organised by the Department of Samagra Shiksha, Sangareddy, providing them with an opportunity to experience the campus, visit departments and laboratories, and interact with faculty members.

During the visit, IITH Director Prof. B.S. Murty interacted with the students and encouraged them to dream big, set ambitious goals and aspire to achieve them. He urged the students to draw inspiration not only from the campus and its facilities but also from the research, innovation and determination demonstrated by the students and faculty at IITH.

The visit was part of the institute’s ‘Visit IITH’ initiative, through which the institute opens its campus to students and members of the public who wish to get a glimpse of IITH. Visitors can register through the ‘Visit IITH’ portal, with guided campus visits facilitated by student volunteers and campus guide ambassadors every Saturday across different time slots. So far, more than 10,000 students have visited the institute through the initiative.
