Bijnor: A six-year-old boy was killed by a leopard while he was playing outside his house in a village here, officials said on Thursday.
The remains of the child, who was dragged away by the big cat last evening, were found on Thursday morning.
Forest Ranger Ram Kumar said Aniket was playing outside his house in Khushalpur Mundka village in the Najibabad area on Wednesday evening when he went missing.
His family and villagers searched for him throughout the night. His remains were found on Thursday morning in a sugarcane field around 400 metres from the village, Kumar said.
He said the forest department has alerted villagers and advised them not to allow children to venture outside alone.
A cage is being installed in the nearby forest area to capture the leopard, Kumar said.
