According to a report by Iran’s Oil Ministry, Owji met with Venezuelan officials to discuss the provision of technical engineering services, follow-up of the issue of extraterritorial refineries, repair of refineries, market creation for the private sector of Iran’s oil industry, especially in the field of petrochemicals, and investment in Venezuela’s oil industry.
During the meetings, the two sides also exchanged views on infrastructure projects in the oil and gas sector and the progress of ongoing refining, petrochemical, infrastructure, and gas transmission projects.
The report also highlighted the special capacities of the oil industry in the lucrative Latin American market.
“The measures taken by the Oil Ministry in developing relations with Latin American countries can be considered as breaking the barriers of this ministry in the matter of energy diplomacy,” it said.
It added that such measures have paved the way for companies active in Iran’s oil industry to enter the large energy market of Latin America.
