According to CNN, the US official said on condition of anonymity that military personnel stationed at the Tower 22 base in Jordan near the Syrian border are not in appropriate condition.
The official also said that commanders of the base decided to send eight soldiers to other countries after diagnosing traumatic brain injuries in those troops.
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) also confirmed that eight service members were medically evacuated from Jordan after being wounded in early Sunday’s drone attack on the US outpost.
Washington announced on Sunday that three US Army troops were killed and more than 30 service members were injured in a drone attack overnight, marking the first time US troops have been killed in the West Asia region since the onset of the Gaza war.
