Yemen part of reality, security of West Asia: Iran FM

Yemen part of reality, security of West Asia: Iran FM

Speaking in a telephone conversation on January 11, Iran’s Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian and his Norwegian counterpart, Espen Barth Eide discussed bilateral relations, the latest developments in Palestine, and the continuation of the Zionist regime’s crimes in Gaza and the West Bank.

Amir-Abdollahian said that continuing negotiations between Iran and Norway will greatly help to expand relations in bilateral interest.

Referring to the Zionist regime’s crimes against Gaza and the West Bank, he stressed that ending the human blockade and the genocide against Gaza and the West Bank is necessary.

The Iranian diplomat also hailed the South African government’s action in filing a complaint against this regime.

He called the US direct entrance to war against civilians, women, and children of Gaza a strategic mistake.

Saying that since the beginning of the bombing and genocide in Gaza, Iran warned that war is not the solution, he reminded that if the killing of civilians in Gaza and the West Bank continues, the scope of the war will expand.

This warning is due to Iran’s understanding of the situation in the region in support of Palestine, he added.

Referring to the commitment of all parties to maritime security, the Iranian top diplomat said that Yemen is part of the reality and security of the West Asian region.

Norway’s Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide for his part condemned the terrorist incident in Kerman, expressing his condolences to the government and people of Iran.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway also emphasized that the development of relations between the two countries is always of concern to Norway and the official positions of Norway are announced by government officials.

Norwegian top diplomat while welcoming Iran’s constructive role in reducing tensions in the region, emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, the sending of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and the start of a political process based on the formation of an independent Palestinian government.

Iran and Norway agreed on the continuation of calls, consultation, and exchange of political views on bilateral interests.
