Today’s visit of Miguel Díaz-Canel to Tehran is the first after the travel of the late Cuban president Fidel Castro to Iran about 23 years ago.
In a related development, President Raeisi visited Cuba on a regional tour to the Latin American countries about six months ago. The visit of an Iranian president to Cuba took place after 12 years.
