“The president speaks about this for a good reason, as he has certain information, he has grounds to say so,” the Kremlin spokesman said, when asked by journalist Pavel Zarubin, who posted a video on his Telegram channel, TASS reports.
In early November, Putin said at a meeting on economic issues that the potential of the West’s sanctions war against Russia “has actually maxed out is that the acts of sabotage <…> on major global infrastructure may come into play.”
He recalled the sabotage on the Nord Stream gas system and the attempts to blame Russia for damage to the Balticconnector pipeline connecting Finland and Estonia.
The Russian president emphasized that it was crucial “to predict such risks in advance and to proactively respond to them” so as to ensure the stable operation of enterprises, companies, and their workforce as well as the reliability of Russia’s foreign trade ties.
