Death toll from Israel’s bombardment of the besieged Gaza Strip has passed the 5,000 figure. That includes at least 2,000 children.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said on Monday 5,087 people had been killed since Israel launched its relentless bombardment on October 7.

The health ministry released the updated toll after Israel’s military attacked Gaza with more than 300 new airstrikes within 24 hours.

The regime said it had hit “over 320 military targets in the Gaza Strip” during the same period.

According to health ministry, the overnight “massacre” killed at least 430 people, including 184 kids.

It said “more than 60 were martyred in the raids” during the night, including 17 in a single strike that hit a house in Gaza’s north, and at least 10 others were killed in new strikes early Monday.

The number of those wounded in Israel’s attacks in the past 17 days have also passed the 15,270 mark, the ministry said.

About 1,500 people are also trapped under rubble, including 830 children.

The bombings have destroyed thousands of buildings and left over one million people displaced in one of the most densely-populated places in the world, which is largely deprived of water, food and other basic supplies due to Israel’s blockade.
