Hyderabad: A man was grievously injured in a hit-and-run incident reported in Mailardevpally on Sunday night.
The accident occurred near Palle Cheruvu when a speeding car rammed into a motorcycle and allegedly dragged it for nearly 200 metres.
According to preliminary information, four youths from Shadnagar were travelling on motorcycles towards Charminar for shopping when the car, allegedly driven at high speed by Kishore, hit one of the bikes from behind.
Despite the motorcycle getting lodged in the front portion of the car, the driver continued driving, dragging the vehicle for about 200 metres.
Local residents chased the car, stopped the driver and allegedly thrashed him before handing him over to the Mailardevpally police.
Police registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. Officials are also verifying whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
