Siricilla: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said Telangana had made remarkable progress in the last nine and a half years under the BRS regime, positioning itself as a leader in multiple key categories in the country. He cautioned that a vote to political parties like the Congress and the BJP could halt the ongoing development and push the State back into the dark ages.
“Telangana is number one in the country for per capita income, per capita power consumption, and the provision of safe drinking water to every household,” he said. He suggested the farmers to chose wisely whether they preferred 24 hours or only three hours of electricity as proposed by the Congress for agriculture.
Participating in the Praja Ashirvada Sabha at Sircilla on Tuesday, the Chief Minister took a swipe at the Congress party, reminding the gathering of the 60-year rule of the Congress in the State with no significant progress. He credited the BRS government for its persistence in ensuring uninterrupted power supply for the benefit of farmers in Telangana.
He strongly criticised the Congress party’s aversion to the Dharani portal which simplified the registration process and was safeguarding the rights of farmers over their lands. He accused the Congress of making attempts to bring back old systems which had made farmers suffer for decades.
Chandrashekhar Rao stated that in the last 10 years, Telangana has remained peaceful, without any communal or caste-based conflicts and clashes. He noted, “In Telangana, we are all united, like a family. We respect each other’s beliefs in adherence to Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb. We should not allow the divisive forces to create any disturbances that could hamper the flow of investments into the State,” he said, urging the people to cast their votes for BRS and the car symbol, to witness Sircilla transform into a prominent educational and irrigation water hub.
On the occasion, Chandrashekhar Rao, who reminisced his strong personal connections to Siricilla, said the BRS government rejuvanated the Upper Manair project, after suffering decades of negligence in erstwhile Andhra pradesh. He appreciated Siicilla MLA and Minister KT Rama Rao for his dedication towards the welfare of handloom weavers and pledged continued support to the weavers community upon getting re-elected to power.
He found fault with the opposition parties for politicising the distribution of Bathukamma sarees and stated that these new sarees not only bring joy to the women during festivities, but also have ensured sustainable income for the weavers of Sircilla and elsewhere in the State. He urged the people to see through attempts by miscreants to politicise these schemes.
