Iran urges UN to send humanitarian aid to Gaza

Iran urges UN to send humanitarian aid to Gaza

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian discussed the latest developments in Gaza with the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres over the phone on Wednesday.

Saying that the Al-Aqsa Storm Operation was a fully Palestinian initiative, Amir-Abdollahian said it was a reaction to the war crimes and extremism of Netanyahu and the Zionist regime in recent months.

Currently, Gaza is under a total siege, and water and electricity, as well as the delivery of medicine and food to children, women, and individuals, have been cut off, he noted, adding that attacks and war crimes by the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza continue.

Due to the spread of killings of women and children in Gaza, the responsibility for its subsequent feedback and the complication of the situation lies with the Zionist regime, the Iranian top diplomat added.

Announcing Iran’s readiness to send humanitarian aid to Gaza, he said, “We expect the United Nations to take immediate measures to send water, food and humanitarian aid to Gaza without interruption.”

The UN chief, said for his part, that hundreds of UN employees are in very bad conditions in Gaza and so far some of them have been killed and they are protecting the people of Gaza in these conditions.

“A large number of Gazans have been sheltered in schools belonging to the United Nations in this city. We are aware of the deterioration of the situation in Gaza and we are trying to prevent the intensification of bombings and conflicts through consultation with other countries,” Guterres said.

He also appreciated the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to send water, food, and medicine to Gaza.
