Isfahan, the cultural capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran, is preparing to host the 5th Mustafa Prize ceremony this week from September 28 to October 4.

The prestigious biennial event, often referred to as the “Muslim Nobel”, recognizes scientific excellence in Iran and other Muslim nations.

The Mustafa Prize was established in 2012 and has been held every two years since 2015.

This year, the event will be attended by 150 scientific luminaries from across the Muslim world who are going to be felicitated for their outstanding scientific contributions.

The Mustafa Prize pays tribute to leading researchers and scientists of the Islamic world, with prize money in each category totaling $500,000, financed through the science and technology endowment.

In addition to the financial reward, they will also receive the Mustafa Medal and an Honorary Diploma as souvenirs for their exemplary achievements.

The prize is awarded in four distinct categories —  “Life and Medical Science and Technology”, “Nanoscience and Nanotechnology”, “Information and Communication Science and Technology”, and “Basic and Engineering Sciences” — emphasizing its commitment to fostering scientific excellence.
