‘War in Gaza recorded a striking image of resistance front’s victory’

‘War in Gaza recorded a striking image of resistance front’s victory’

A high-ranking official from the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement says while the large-scale anti-Israeli operation launched by the Gaza Strip-based Palestinian resistance movements recorded a clean-cut image of the Tel Aviv regime’s humiliation and failure, it testified to the resistance front’s victory.

“The Operation Al-Aqsa Storm recorded a striking picture of humiliation, condemnation, and failure in the memory of the Zionist enemy, which can’t be erased at all,” Vice President of the Executive Council of Hezbollah Sheikh Ali Damoush said at a ceremony in the southern Lebanese village of Hula on Sunday.

On the other hand, he said, “it cultivated a picture of the Axis of Resistance’s victory in the hearts and minds of Palestinians as well as Arab and Muslim nations.”

He added that resistance fighters will be present on the ground with all their strength, courage, and sensibility, and will respond decisively to any Israeli act of aggression against the Lebanese soil.

Sheikh Damoush highlighted that Israel could not accomplish any of its declared objectives in the Gaza war through devastating bombings and massacres, stressing that the Israeli military neither could crush the Hamas resistance movement nor free its captives by means of force.

“The Zionist regime even failed to protect its settlements against rockets fired by Gaza-based resistance factions. Despite fierce opposition in the first weeks of the onslaught, the regime was ultimately forced to step back, accept the conditions of the resistance front, and agree to an extendable ceasefire as well as prisoner swap,” the top Hezbollah official pointed out.

Sheikh Damoush added that such developments attest to the fact that resistance groups have imposed their conditions on the Tel Aviv regime and emerged triumphant at last.

“Even though Israeli forces have so far killed more than 20,000 Palestinian civilians, injured tens of thousands of Gazans, and destroyed large swathes of land in the Gaza Strip, they could not wreak the spirit of resistance and determination in the enclave,” he pointed out.

“The limitless Israeli aggression fell short in the face of the steadfastness and resilience of the people of Gaza. We are sure that their perseverance and patience will bear nothing other than victory,” Sheikh Damoush said.

It is not permissible for Israel to escape from the punishment of its crimes, he continued, noting that international calls for the trial of Israeli officials must grow.

The senior Hezbollah official went on to lambaste certain Western governments for their support for Israel, arguing that they allowed the Israeli army to kill Gazans and get away from the punishment of war crimes committed against the Palestinians.

“If the Zionist enemy resumes its attacks on the Gaza Strip following the end of the truce, the Gaza-based resistance groups will confront the attacks with much more strength and determination. They will not stop their retaliatory strikes this time until they inflict a much heavier defeat on the enemy,” Sheikh Damoush said.

Israel unleashed a bombardment campaign against Gaza the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm inside the occupied territories on October 7. The regime has killed at least 14,854 people, including more than 6,150 children and 4,000 women, in Gaza.

In a statement on Wednesday, Hamas announced a four-day truce with Israel in the Gaza Strip that will see the cessation of hostilities in Gaza.

Hamas said the deal, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, will allow the entry of hundreds of trucks with humanitarian aid, medicine and fuel to Gaza.

After seven weeks of massacre, the truce took effect at 7:00 a.m. (0500 GMT) on Friday following a night of intense Israeli bombardment. It also stipulates the release of Israelis held in Gaza in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.
