Israel has apparently been pressing social media influencers and content creators to engage in a disinformation campaign to the occupying regime’s interests amid the deadly bombardment of the fully besieged Gaza Strip.
Sara Watson, a British social media influencer, for instance has said she has been approached by the regime, bribed and even coerced to retract her support for Palestine.
Sulaiman Ahmed is another influencer who says Israel is paying huge sums of money to influencers to post content on social media that is against the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and in support of Israel.
The mechanism Israel has employed in this regard apparently has to do with giving instructions to the content creator to support the regime as well as directing the influencer to a website of explainer videos, asking the influencer to use the links there in their posts by attaching them to hashtags falsely linking Hamas to Daesh terrorists.
