Sangareddy: With two new police stations being created in the Patancheru constituency and the existing Gummadidala police station upgraded to a Circle, Congress leaders are reportedly lobbying to secure postings for officers considered close to them.
Parts of the Patancheru constituency were recently brought under the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate. The government has created a new sub-divisional police office at Jinnaram and a new police station at Isnapur, besides renaming the existing Patancheru Traffic Police Station as the Isnapur Traffic Police Station.
With Gummadidala police station upgraded to a Circle, the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) has also become available. Until now, the station had been headed by a Sub-Inspector as the Station House Officer (SHO). Several officers are reportedly lobbying for postings as DSPs and SHOs in the newly created and upgraded units.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders Neelam Madhu and Kata Srinivas Goud are also reportedly lobbying for the postings of officers close to them. However, their efforts are not limited to competition from within the district, as Congress leaders from Nalgonda are also reportedly seeking the posts.
Three Circle Inspector-rank officers from Nalgonda district are said to be seeking the postings. They have reportedly approached Ministers from Nalgonda as well as an MP and an MLA, who are sons of a former Home Minister, to seek their preferred postings.
The officers who have met the Nalgonda leaders are reportedly confident of securing the postings. Patancheru Congress leaders, meanwhile, are lobbying through Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha, while Neelam Madhu is reportedly approaching leaders considered close to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
The involvement of Nalgonda Ministers and other leaders in the postings has reportedly not gone down well with the Health Minister. As postings in Patancheru are considered sought-after, lobbying has intensified.
With the new and upgraded police units expected to start functioning shortly, Sangareddy Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj is likely to announce the postings soon.
