Hyderabad: Residential Welfare Associations (RWAs) on Monday issued a security advisory to apartment owners within GHMC, CMC and MMC limits after six suspected Cheddi gang members allegedly broke into a flat at Flotilla Apartments in Neknampur in the early hours of Monday.
The advisory asked apartment and villa management committees and security staff to strengthen surveillance along compound walls, particularly in dark areas without lighting or CCTV coverage.
It said offenders often used such weak points to enter communities, commit theft and escape while security teams focused mainly on gates.
Committees and security personnel were advised to inspect compound boundaries for dark spots, broken fencing and CCTV blind spots.
Adequate lighting and cameras should be installed at all vulnerable locations, while perimeter patrols should be increased, particularly between 11 pm and 5 am, the advisory said.
Residents sought increased night police patrolling in Alkapur Township and neighbouring colonies, especially near the nala, lakeside areas, isolated stretches and other vulnerable entry points.
They were advised to secure gates, doors and boundary fences, avoid confronting suspicious people, alert police immediately about suspicious movements and promptly share relevant CCTV footage.
