Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar has warned that strict action will be taken against those playing vulgar or provocative songs during Ganesh idol immersion processions.
Addressing the media on the elaborate arrangements made for the final idol immersion, Sajjanar said police social media teams were continuously monitoring reels and videos related to the processions.
Action would be taken against those found violating the rules, once the festival concluded, he said.
The warning comes amid videos circulating on social media that purportedly show police stopping processions over songs associated with BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
Police, however, have maintained that their focus is on preventing vulgar and provocative content and maintaining law and order during the Ganesh idol immersion festivities.
