Hyderabad: Heavy vehicle traffic was diverted near the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Saturday after protesters belonging to different groups attempted to storm the premises.
After police noticed protesters, including GHMC garbage lifters, students and members of other groups, arriving near the Assembly in buses, they diverted buses and other heavy vehicles from Public Gardens towards Basheerbagh and Liberty Junction.
As a result, buses heading towards Lakdikapool had to take a diversion of nearly three km, causing inconvenience to commuters.
The diversions were made as a precautionary measure to prevent protesters from reaching the Assembly premises.
